  1. The Boston Globe ran a nice article in today's paper on Landon Wilson: http://www.boston.com/dailyglobe2/194/spor...s_Wilson+.shtml
  2. Boston let Lee Goren become a free agent.
  3. Fantastic! As I've said before -- the former Sioux are beginning to own the East! Good job!
  4. Well I'll add my 2 cents since I started this thread -- Pohl was voted the Ice Cats' Rookie of the Year, Jeff Panzer the MVP -- they play for the same team. Good job to both. End of story.
  5. I'm hoping I'm not repeating this, but I just noticed (about 3 weeks after it occurred) that Jeff Panzer was named MVP for the Ice Cats for the season. Lee Goren received that honor for the Providence Bruins this season, too, so the Sioux are shining out East! Unfortunately, both Worcester and Providence have been eliminated from the Caldor Cup play-offs. Here's a quote from the Ice Cat website on Jeff:
  6. More on Lee: this is from the Providence Bruins' site:
  7. Goon -- I'm assuming you also saw that Lee Goren was up with the Boston Bruins the last 2 games ...
  8. I fly into Fargo and have gotten cheap fares on priceline.com (around $200-$250 RT on United). Of course, it's important that United actually stay in business through next October (they're in bankruptcy right now). I began looking about a month ago into flying home around Easter on Northwest (I prefer NWA over flying on United), and have noticed a marked fare increase since the last time I flew home on a full-price ticket. The fares have been $550 - $650 RT (or more). I want to make it to the BC series next fall, too, so hopefully someone can help out when the time comes in getting tickets! (It's also my Mom's birthday around that time, so it will work out for everyone.) Go Sioux!
  9. If BU can beat Harvard (3rd time they play this year; BU's won the other two -- it's always tough to win all 3 games played in a season against any team ... and Harvard looked mighty good against Cornell in the ECAC final), I think BU will beat UNH. BU was without their captain (Freddy Meyer) during the HE tournament, but he's back now. They lost to UNH 1-0 in overtime in the HE tournament the night after they went into double overtime to beat BC. BU wants UNH.
  10. More good news on Lee Goren (GOREN NAMED P-BRUINS/AHL MAN OF THE YEAR): http://www.provbruins.com/bruin.htm (I'm not sure how long the article will be at this link.)
  11. Just a quick break from the NCAA talk -- look what Lee Goren's done in Providence for the Baby B's:
  12. I'm okay with the underdog thing. (BEWARE of the UNDerdogs!) I thought the selection show had UND playing the second game on Friday, but everywhere I've looked online has them playing the first one. I would have thought Minnesota (if they had any say in the matter as the host school) would have chosen to play the 1st game so that if they won, they would have a little more time to rest for the next day (game time 4:00 CT). Maybe they're thinking more about $$$? (I also hope the Sioux feed works on Friday. It didn't Thursday night against MN-Duluth. If anyone is aware of other feeds announced this week in case the Sioux one isn't working, please post them.). Thanks!
  13. I don't see how they could reverse the call ... but, boy that would be great!
  14. Desperation time for the Sioux. Put one in the net!
  15. Depends -- what were you wearing when Bochenski scored? Wear that!
  16. I like all the compliments about David Hale, but what's going on at the game?
  17. Why are they talking about Minnesota and Mankato???
  18. You're not on crack! Just a little play on words ... Go Spiewak!!!
  19. No, I haven't seen him play. I know he kept BU to a goal apiece in a weekend sweep in early December (played at Cornell), though. That's pretty impressive.
