  1. .... or, just turn the lights off
  2. I want another quick goal to begin the 2nd.
  3. Yes, my feed is fuzzy, too. Belfour's gone, but I need to make an edit on my earlier post. I got the info on RJ on the Florida Panther's site, not Tampa Bay's. He was traded to Florida from Tampa Bay in 2001. His bio said that he suffered a concussion Dec. 22, 2001 vs. St. Louis in his 200th NHL career game and missed the final 48 games of the season. He's not listed on the 2002-03 roster, unless I missed something.
  4. Belfour -- just did a search on Tampa Bay's site. It says this about RJ:
  5. 9 SOG by Sioux. Teams at full strength.
  6. The crowd is sooooo into it! Love it!!! ND on PP.
  7. SCORE!!!! Parise, short side!!! 1-0 Sioux.
  8. "Big time glove save" by Brandt. Full arm extended.
  9. You know, I feel really good about this weekend and am not really that nervous. I think everyone's extremely pumped and ready to go. Those quotes can just add fuel to fire and be even more incentive for the Sioux to play a couple of really solid 60- minute games. Confidence. That's what they need. And, I feel it right now. I'm also getting tired of hearing the comparisons to the old Ralph atmosphere -- it's time to own REA and as I said initially, ROCK the place! I've been to games there so I know that maybe the sound doesn't travel as well and it's so much bigger, etc. So, my solution would be to yell louder and longer! Pretty soon those comparisons to the Old Ralph will go away ... No better time than this weekend to give it a whirl. (And, I wish soooo much I could be one of the 11,500+ strong in the stands!) Go Sioux!
  10. Getting down to the very basics, these are what I think will be the 3 keys to the games this weekend: 1) Keep the puck away from our goaltender (whoever he may be)...! Time for the Big D to step up! 2) Put the biscuit in the basket! The puck started bouncing our way again in Wisconsin. Keep it going, guys -- power play goals, even-strength goals, garbage goals, soft goals, goals off the defenseman's stick, SHG, ENG.... Not picky here. We'll take 'em all! 3) Rock the Ralph, SIOUX FANS!! Earn the seventh player award and make that home ice advantage mean something! (And, cheer doubly loud for those of us who can't be there!) In my view, keep it simple and stick to the basics! GO SIOUX!
  11. Way to go, former Sioux!! BTW, Goon -- I caught this in yesterday's Boston Globe about Sammy:
  12. Way to go (AGAIN), Ryan! Great job. (After hearing the taped interview with Jeff Panzer played between periods last night, it sounds like he's really itching to get his chance, too, and is tired of hearing he's not strong enough yet. I hope it's not too long for him, either.) Goon -- Yes, the B's seem to be in a groove now. They almost let it go today, though, so thankfully pulled it out in OT. But, did I hear right that Rolston had a slight concussion? Haven't heard anything lately about when (if) Sammy will be back. We really miss him. Boston was buzzing on Friday about Maine's loss on Thursday night, but no one really thought UMASS would win the series. What a shock. But, the whole BC-Merrimack fiasco is the top story out here. I saw the replay of the hit and, it's really scary. I just hope Exter is okay -- he's back down to critical condition again tonight.
  13. Goon -- Yes! FINALLY a Bruins win -- it's been a long, long time coming (hopefully, this is a preview of good times to come for the Sioux, too...!). I checked the P Bruins site and Lee is still listed as being on the roster. I read somewhere that he didn't play the last couple games and don't know why that was. (I didn't see him on the bench tonight or last night, either, for Boston). He is producing offensively for the Baby B's, and I read that he has points (1 goal, 5 assists) in 5 straight games -- I guess that was before missing the last 2. These are his numbers so far this season for Providence (4th on the team; Hilbert is 2nd; Matt Herr 1st):
  14. For my own selfish reasons, I'd love to see UND out east this year ... AND next (when the Frozen Four is in Boston)!
  15. Ryan scored a beautiful goal tonight (his second), going top shelf against Boston and added an assist on Ron Francis' goal to boot. He looked really good out there, getting plenty of minutes throughout, and played on the power play with the big guys. (It was difficult cheering for him and at the same time hoping for a much-needed Bruins victory -- glad it worked out for both.) Thursday night, Jason Blake is in town against the B's. Should be fun --both teams are battling for a playoff appearance. EDIT: Our Bruins announcers, going over the recap of the game, just spoke about how good Ryan played, and said he went pro after playing his junior year at the University of North Dakota. I always love it when they give credit where it's due.
  16. Yes, he's doing a great job (Ranfranz). I sure would like the Sioux to be able to put in a PP goal tonight .... next time.
  17. YAHOO!!!! FIGHTING SIOUX SCOOOOOOORRRRRRINNNNNGG by Mike Prpich, unassisted -- 7th goal of the season!
  18. It did sound like DU got away with a lot of would be penalties and that they weren't playing fair on Saturday. But, I'd feel much better about that being the major cause of the results with DU if the Sioux had done better on the power play over the weekend. They were only 1-6 Friday (against Berkhoel) -- you'd think they could have done better against him -- and 1-4 Saturday against Dubielewicz. I'm not saying Parise and Bochenski constantly being tackled wasn't a factor, but even when the Sioux had a power play they had troubling converting it into a goal. (Of course, the tackling, et al. on Saturday may have also been occurring during the power plays ... and obviously, the goalie was really "on" that night, but my point is that even on Friday we had trouble converting on the PP.) All that aside, I'm still very excited about UND's chances. I think we can put together a string of wins into the stretch that will take us into the playoffs with confidence. I think it's that confidence factor that is the main thing now. At the beginning of the season the team didn't worry when they were down. We have to get that back (I think the sweep by CC was the start of the shakiness on the confidence level). If we pull out a few big wins in a row here in the end, I think we'll be all set and back to the never-let-die attitude. Just my $.02!
  19. Ooooh!!! Come on guys! No more penalties! Penalty on Bochenski.
  20. Last I was able to see on USCHO, it was 5-3 CC with 7:10 left. EDIT: That's now a final
  21. As I read the prior post, Speedwhack SCORES (against Denver -- 2-3 DU in the 3rd)! A good sign -- Let's Go Sioux!!!
  22. Well, this is very good news. I hope David makes a full recovery very soon and can beat this problem. I've been wanting to ask this for awhile and thought this might be the right time -- does anyone know if Mary Beth Blais doing okay since the scare a couple years ago? I've almost been too afraid to ask since I don't know the answer, but hopefully, this is one of those cases where no news is good news. Thanks.
  23. My friend and I got seats right behind Denis when he was in net for Columbus in the game against Boston a few weeks ago. I convinced my friend to join me: "You're Not KARL! You're Not KARL!" Who knows if Denis could hear us -- and no one around us knew what we were talking about -- but we still had fun!
  24. I don't know who wouldn't be impressed with that article. I really enjoyed it. Thanks.
