My guess would be 35% USHL, 30% WHL, 25% minor/HS/prep. Remember, you still have to go to minor hockey, HS, prep games to get to know the upcoming August 1 first time commit eligible potential recruits. Denver certainly was scouting Colt Carter last year when he was playing U18 AAA minor hockey in St Albert Alberta, and they committed him quite under the radar, and that certainly looks great right now with Carter being a borderline star as a 16 year old producer in the Dub with Moose Jaw.

Carson Pilgrim and Ashton Schultz as 2006s can play another year of junior yes, so they can be deferred. Pilgrim the more likely of the two to be deferred, but we'll see

Sheahan is a good recruiter and the Notre Dame academic/prestige brand sells itself well. Then again, most of us remember when Sasha Pastujov, Logan Cooley, Rutger McGroarty, and more were committed to Notre Dame at one time and then all decommitted and the Fighting Irish were left with egg on their face.

I think 98% of players need to really dominate at the lower level(s) before they move up a level. The 2% who don't are physical freaks &/or Tier 1 elite stars already.

Love when programs &/or individual players defer a year in order for that player to have their offensive breakout before coming to campus. Get a year older and build more offense and thus confidence. Should do wonders for his development

If MacKenzie can be a solid 2 way stabilizer who adds offense on a fairly consistent basis in Grand Forks, that's quite ideal.
