  1. Maybe you should have researched DaveK's stance on fighting in college hockey before you brought up his quote as a lame smack attempt at college hockey.
  2. The Sioux finished the UNI-Dome tournament with a 11-9 loss to UNI.
  3. 10-5 loss to Dayton this morning.
  4. The second game of the day didn't go much better. The ladies just lost 8-3 to SDSU. They will get a chance to redeem themselves tomorrow against Dayton and UNI.
  5. The ladies lost their first game of the inaugural DI season 11-1 to Nebraska. Up next is SDSU. There are live stats at the UNI Ramada Invite website.
  6. Fighting Sioux softball to kick off at UNI-Dome Classic .
  7. Coach Strinz, Sioux prepare for 2009 season
  8. Except this is college athletics. And a majority of the time what college athletic administrators say to the media, what they are thinking and what actually happens are very different. Things such as conference movement and realignment are often done behind closed doors and people never find out about it until it is a done deal and the paper work is signed. Besides, aren't message boards for speculating on?
  9. I would say UN-Omaha over Northern Michigan. Northern Michigan doesn't bring in any new markets or coverage for the schools in the WCHA. UNO brings in a very good sized market with Omaha/Nebraska/Iowa. The UP is covered for the WCHA with MTU. Also, UNO's arena is much more inline with the standards of the WCHA. The Qwest Center seats 14,700 in the UNO hockey configuration. While UNO isn't anywhere near filling it, WCHA fans travel very well. With more regional schools coming in, I could see their attendance going up. And it would be a great, easy trip for WCHA fans. Third, UNO has such a long history with all of the former NCC schools in the WCHA. To me, that is just as meaningful as NMU's previous history with the WCHA. And finally, it doesn't make sence to have UAH or NMU heading west to the WCHA with UNO traveling east to the CCHA. There are only a handful of schools that sponsor hockey west of I-29. It just makes sence to have UNO in the western most hockey conference. Just my humble opinions.

  11. Interesting to see they have scheduled a softball tournament. I didn't think they would have enough teams.

  13. I am looking for 2 tickets for friends for the Denver series. Either Friday night, Saturday night or both nights. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dan
  14. There was a thread discussing this back in November. Maybe an admin would want to move the posts over to it so that they don't get lost in this thread or hijack it anymore? Conference Realignment?
  15. I usually respect your posts hammer, but I think you just broke 3 windows in your own glass house. Every time I see a bison fan post about RT sitting on this 4 year contract, the time frame seems to get longer and longer. And now all of the sudden RT knew what FUTURE NCAA playoff policy was going to be? Bison fans always razz Roger for calling a press conference to announce that UND would not play NDSU anymore in football but never ask Forum Communications why they were doing daily interview requests with RT and asking him the exact same questions about the rivalry everyday. If you want to be pissed at Roger for calling the press conference, you should be just as pissed at your cheerleader rag in Fargo for pressing the issue.

  17. Good question. If they are different, I will have to be sure to stop and pick up a couple of Scheel's version also.
  18. Wow. Alot of people need to settle down. 1) Douple never said that UND wouldn't get into the Summit. Douple never said that he would never bring UND up for consideration, site visits, or for discussion for future expantions. He simply said that he wants to see UND get the nickname issue resolved before anything movs ahead. And we all know that is going to happen sooner rather than later. 2) Taylor and Chapman don't owe anything to UND. They have no reason to schedule us as long as they are getting full schedules with reasonable DI competition. Their fans want to see them play new DI teams and big schools with name recognition just as much as we want to see our schedule filled out with new DI teams and big schools with name recognition. Once UND is a counter it would make sence for both schools to schedule each other in non-revenue sports for travel and budget reasons. However, there is nothing that says either school MUST schedule the other. 3) So far we have no reason to believe that any of the NDSU administration is trying to blackball UND from the Summit League. If anyone has any actual evidence that has happened, I would hope that the SBOHE would be the first to be shown this evidence. But until there is any evidence, all of this trash talk and accusations is pointless.

  20. And Fargo is more similar to Aberdeen than it is to NYC or LA. I think you are putting too much enphasis on MSUM taking fans away from NDSU.
  21. I thought it was going to be in the Metrodome.
