Is anyone going to be making it to Moscow for the game? On a side note, U of I and UND are very similar institutions. I hope to see them on the schedule on a regular basis for all of our sports.

DI women's hockey is actually classified as NCAA National Collegiate and not DI. So it never counted against the 1 women's play-up. So even when we were DII, we could have moved up another women's sport to DI. Men's DI hockey is actually classified as DI, but because there is no DII men's hockey the line became a little bit blurrier whether or not UND could have moved up another men's sport to DI or fast tracked a men's sport. But with women's hockey classified as National Collegiate and not DI, there is no reason we couldn't have fast tracked a women's sport. It is very sad that our previous administration didn't do anything to clarify this and get 1 men's and 1 women's sport fast tracked. In hindsight, UND should have fast tracked volleyball and baseball. If we had fast tracked baseball, the GW would would probably qualify for a baseball autobid now. But just a few years ago, who would have ever thought in their wildest dreams that our VB program would be doing as well as it is.

POLL: Should UND-NDSU Resume the Football Series?
dakotadan replied to ShilohSioux's topic in Football
The 2010 National Champion beats NDSU in the playoffs and the better team didn't win? So how many mythical National Championships are the Bison up to now since they began their transition? There are so many I can't seem to keep up. How is a picture of a UMD Bulldog fan flipping off a Michigan player "the classiest Sioux fan ever"? -
This has always been something that annoys me from a marketing standpoint. When you go into Wal-Mart all of their UND gear is an ugly mint green. The bookstore on campus has mostly darker forest green clothing. It would be nice to see a more consistent bright Kelly Green used for all UND merchandise. As far as uniforms, I can't say that any of UND's are anything special. I liked the black/white/green diamond ribbing that we used to use on the hockey and football jerseys. It would be nice to see the athletic department come up with a common branding as far as uniforms and carry it throughout all of the sports.

I believe that Maryland is Under Armour's test-tube-baby like Oregon is to Nike.

The 9-1 run to retake and win the fourth set and the game showed amazing character from the ladies! They could have easily just looked toward a 5th set but they didn't. This is a talented team that just defeated another very talented team. I wasn't able to make it tonight, but I hope the 2,394 people who were in the Betty enjoyed it so much they keep coming back. Hardee has turned this program into a winner. 26-1 at home since he took over the program! Let's keep getting out to these games and support the ladies.

Maryland's uniforms wouldn't be bad if they had just white helmets and shoes. But the crazy helmets and shoes were way too much. I didn't mind Boise's unis at all. I actually really liked their white helmets with the white Bronco logo on them.

It should be the actual live video. UND and Idaho both use NeuLion as their webhost. Whenever UND plays AT a school that also uses NeuLion, we almost always pick up their webcasts. That is why it is good for people to regularly check the webcasts on FightingSIoux.com, there have been many times I have caught away games by checking North Dakota Insider.

Attendance: 8484 Kind of disappointing number. But being a Thursday night with people working tomorrow definately put a dent in it. But the athletic department and the Al did smarten up and put almost all of their walkup ticket sales on the west side so it looks better on TV.

I thought the whole point of starting the NCHC was to get away from schools like SCSU. If this happens, what is the difference between the new NCHC and where the WCHA was? We could have just as well stayed in the WCHA and kicked out McLeod. I would go for BGSU over SCSU any day. At least they are full DI, bring a sliver of name recognition and it would keep them with their MAC brothers. SCSU is a joke of a school. Besides, their president already said they weren't interested in the NCHC and wouldn't accept an invitation anyways.

2011 Volleyball Media Guide Under head coach Ashley Hardee, the Sioux are 47-11 overall and 23-1 in the Great West! Let's get out to the Betty and support the coach and the ladies as they go for their 3rd consecutive conference title.

It redirects to HERE. Down the road... pull out the track, shift the field closer to the Memorial Grandstand, build an identical Memorial Grandstand on the east side between the moved field and the IDP with a row or two of suites on the top. When needed, enclose the south endzone with steel bleachers to create a 20-25,000 horseshoe. Really crazy idea. When the new parking ramp is built, throw some suites/lounges/viewing decks on the top level that look into the new Memorial Horseshoe.

The Great West switched to an alternating schedule this year. When the women are at home against a GWC school, the men will be on the road at that school. Here is the schedule according to the Fan Guide that came with my FB season tickets. So until it is officially released, this may not be 100% accurate. EDIT: I just checked UMKC's website and it shows us playing there on Dec. 7. That game wasn't listed in the Fan Guide so this was likely printed up before the schedule was completely done. Sat. Using the released TV schedule, I added a few more games. It appears that the Great West will not be doing men's and women's doubleheaders this year. I wonder if UND will have doubleheaders for any of their games then. Sat. Nov 12 - Waldorf Mon. Nov 14 - Idaho St. Sat. Nov 19 - @ Bradley Wed. Nov 23 - Montana Sat. Dec 3 - @Idaho State Wed. Using the TV schedule that bin linked to, we can figure out a few of the GW conference games also. Or even if we wanted to keep the Potato Bowl USA in GF every year, we could still come up with a traveling trophy. The team that wins would get their school name engraved on the trophy. In the years that other schools won the trophy, they could have it to display until the end of the academic year and then return it to UND.
-
It is too bad that Idaho State backed out of their return game the other year. It would have been neat to have the Potato Bowl be against ISU. Hopefully going forward in the Big Sky, we can have the Potato Bowl against ISU every year that they play in GF. Maybe we could work out a traveling trophy for the UND/ISU series that relates to the Potato Bowl. 2012: do not play, could possibly drop our FBS game against San Diego State and bring them in Sept. 15? 2013: Sat, Oct 05 @ Idaho State 2014: do not play, we still have 4 open dates, could bring them in as a guarantee game 2015: Sat, Oct 10 vs. Idaho State, possibly switch this game to an away game to continue home/home rotation The Potato Bowl could rotate between GF and Pocatello. In the years UND/ISU play in Idaho, we could call our usual Potato Bowl game/week the Military Bowl and use it as our Military Appreciation game. We could still do the French Fry Feed, etc.

Thanks for the link and the insight. Can't wait for the season to get here.

UMt and UI do play each other earlier in the season but only once. It would even it out so that UND and UI play twice and UMt and UI play twice. I don't see why any of the schools would have a problem with that. Then we could travel right over to Moscow and play them the following Tuesday like scheduled.

Mon. Nov. 14 - Idaho St. Sat. Nov. 19 - @ Bradley Sat. Dec. 3 - @Idaho State Wed. Dec 07 - @ Missouri-Kansas City Sat. Dec. 31 - @ Kansas Jan ... - Valley City State Waldorf NDSU Montana @ Sacramento St. @ Longwood @ Louisiana Tech That is all I could find for dates. Anyone else know any specifics? And I really, really hope that they can work it out to have both the NDSU and the UMt games in the Ralph. That would be a great setting and atmosphere and would be more likely to draw out the casual fans. Possibly even the ISU game.
