I just wish it wasn't this year. Heck of a time to miss the NCAA tourney. Heck of a time.

Oh man, was that aweful. :spits out bad taste: The Goofer Collective poster child is Jesse Hardman. taz LMFAO

Actually, you might have covered 'em all right there.

Feel better after that bout of verbal diarrhea, sweetpea? I'll expect more since folks usually can't get it all out in one sitting. To be sure, the Gophs just plain forgot to bring their "swagger" last night. Perhaps Lucia left it in the office? God help us all if he finds it again, I just can't take any more "swagger" this year. Thanks for the post season nod, by the way. Didn't know you were on the selection committe. Frankly, I'm surprised you'd promote that for UND; well, with knowing what happened to the Goofs post season last year and all. taz

Students: Help your cause by doing the following: 1) Learn the lyrics to the rouser "Stand Up and Cheer" and fight song "Fight On Sioux" 2) When you stand, jump up and down (I saw the Duke students doing this, kinda cool) and YELL. 3) Sit down when general play is underway, stand when appropriate. 4) Look up the definition of appropriate and then figure out when you should stand. 5) Sing the school song LOUDLY in unison whenever it is played. 6) Signs, signs, signs. Naughty but certainly not hostile or abusive. 7) Avoid "F*** the ____" chants in unison, feel free to curse individually when appropriate. (like for roughly 53 minutes of last night's game) 8) Think of clever, suggestive cheers that bend, but not break the rules. Teach them to the crowd. 9) Find out the definition of clever. 10) What ever happened to the frozen animals?

Just to be clear, it's not my website. I suspect some adoring fan of mine understandably building a shrine unto me. The majority are female, of course, in their 20's and 30's. Trim, athletic ex-cheerleaders and dancers mostly. Some actresses, body doubles and the like. You know.

Woog and Mazzocco? I agree. taz

You actually allowed your Tivo machine to continue capturing that colossal sh!tstorm? I'm considering dangerously high levels of medication to rid myself of the foulness in my memory, and your rewinding/rewatching "it" on Tivo. Amazing.

Ugh! Shameless self-promotion. Disgusting. >>>SIOUX FANS CLICK HERE!!!<<<

I'd like to think that he tried whisking it into the glass out of frustration, then regretted the move as soon as the puck left high off the stick blade. If he intended to fire into the crowd, then that is really disappointing. Perhaps not coincidentally, my shoe was flying toward the TV about that same time.

Hunny, when your done surfing ebay, can you check on the kids and then grab me a beer? Be a doll and put it in a frosty mug for me too, OK? taz

Were you there, farce? If so, I'm very sorry to hear that! Lammy's shot into the crowd at the end of the game was really too bad. Very dangerous. Not a great way to end that crapfest of a game. Gophs looked very good, of course. I just can't get over how dominant Potulny and Irmen are against UND this year. They can do no wrong. The Sioux were much worse than I anticipated. I expected them to get beat tonight, but not this badly. Now, the third period by itself was actually quite enjoyable to watch. As much as Woog wanted to discount their play, UND actually had some life. Was it just the Gophs letting up, or did this team decide to put some effort in? A lopsided loss like this does not tank the season (the ones against teams like AA do). If UND can get 2 pts out of this weekend, which, last I checked was still possible, then all will be right. I don't see an @ss kicking like this again tomorrow. Humiliation can have a positive effect for a team with skill. Let's get two tomorrow and get outta gooferville humbled but satisified. taz

I'd answer that but my wife has just informed me that I have to go and finish the dishes.

UND is just too talented. They just can't get all that talent working together, in sync. Yeah. Talent. Too much of it. Yeah. Is that a cowbell I'm hearing?
-
I'm positive the Sioux are getting their a$$ kicked tonight. Is that what you mean?

Hard to sleep during a train wreck. Whoops, did I say that out loud? I think it's now 4-0. So, g'night everyone! taz

Goon: You don't think that hockey is far more important to Canada than the US? Its practically the official state-sponsored religion up there. I don't doubt that there are some fans whose cheering against the US Team is purely motivated by our current policy re: Iraq. But, in the end I think the majority of it was more hockey related, and the fact that Team USA is no longer a preliminary war-up game to work out the lines for the medal round. They're still worked up about the gold loss two years ago. Having said all that, I can't imagine how p!ssed I would have been if I had to sit in the middle of a bunch of drunks chanting "USA Sucks" while the team was getting schooled by Russia. I would likely have been doing a little "game misconduct" of my own (and perhaps getting my @ss kicked in the process). taz

Equally true, is the fact that the vast, and I mean VAST, majority of folks in this big nation could give a rip about World Jr. Hockey-- even when the US actually medals. I believe it was Parise that likened their gold medal victory to that of the 1980 Olympic team beating the Soviets and most folks went "huh?". Save for that one incredible event, anything below the NHL is just not on the radar here. And an argument can be made to include the NHL itself in that obscure group. This frustrates US hockey fans who love the sport so much. But, the reality is, this is an NFL, MLB, NBA, and NASCAR/INDY nation. Hockey? No. The lockout proved that. I think that is what makes the efforts of the USA WJ program so impressive. It has got to drive Canadians a little NUTS that a nation who could give a crap about a sport can actually generate good talent to compete in it. I think this might have been fuel for the Vancouver fans. I agree with Canuck. This is Canada's game. The fans are absolutely beyond passionate. While unseemly to many, getting booed relentlessly in Vancouver is a badge of honor. Just too bad our boys couldn't walk out with earned respect and a medal. Still, though, cheering for the Russians. Are they crazy up there??!! One might rue the day one cheers for that bunch. taz

Those "meanies" helped make Grand Forks and the REA quite successful last year as well. And, as for manners... Since when has that word been associated with hockey? I didn't see any games, but it sounds like the USA pretty much laid a big ol' egg in this deal. Along with their lackluster performance overall, They certainly gave the anti-USA crowd more reason to get on them. When your play isn't up to expectations (yours or others), you have to keep your frustration from taking over. The game misconducts disappoint me in that I expect to see all USA sports ambassadors handle themselves better than anyone else in world competition. I hold the US to a higher standard. Now, as for Canadian fans cheering this way or that. Who cares? They saw the US as their rival this year, and used the home arena to a big advantage. Makes sense to me. Now, once the US/Russia game was out of reach, I could have done without the USA sucks thing. Just seems cheap, easy. However, events like this build character, or at least scar tissue, for any athlete. What goes around comes around, and perhaps one day the US will be hoisting the Gold in front of those very same Canuck fans, stewing in their beer. For now, I say Go Canada! Should be a great game this evening, with Toews getting a hat trick! Please someone tell taz that Oshie is just fine.

Didn't Lee Goren make Gionta cry in 2000? I enjoyed that. taz

Yeah, mine was back to Gooferville as well. Even worse was the fact that we had a trip planned to CA to visit relatives and go to the Frozen Four. I remember sitting in a living room in San Diego watching Alfie Michaud standing on his head (what an amazing performance he had!) and wincing in pain as the Blackbears hoisted the trophy. taz

He's not the only one. Whoops! Did I post that?

I'm going to have to abide by my rule to never post when I'm p!ssed off. OK. So, no posts from me. None. Nope. Not going to post about blowing home ice for regionals. Not a peep from me until I simmer down. Zip-it. Mums the word. Did I mention HOME ICE??? taz

Somebody please tell this team that they have the opportunity to get home ice for the regionals. Somebody.
