  1. Calling Tyson Jost
  2. I honestly think he's more than happy to have had the season he's had. Even if he doesn't win a natty, I don't think he regrets his decision one bit as he's flourished over there. I still don't like the fact that he completely checked out in the 2nd half of the season last year, but I honestly forget about him at times
  3. I'm a dummy. Carry on haha Although I still am bummed about Jubenvil. I'm a fan of his simple defensive style. Boring but very solid.
  4. I figured Jubenvil would portal out but I didn't think Strathmann would but now you have me worried about that haha. We need some of these guys to age up and stay in the lineup but both of them would be Top-4 guys at other places so I get it. Love getting the opportunity to have skilled younger guys but we all know how it goes with too young of a D corp.
  5. Want to break up your right shot D, though
  6. I think the freshmen are going to thrive tomorrow. Feeling 3 goals tomorrow and it’ll be freshmen getting at least 2 of the 3.
  7. Definitely a compliment. But Yeah it’s too expensive to spend 3 nights in a hotel for a couple games
  8. I can stomach another Western title.. for now..as long as it’s not Denver, Duluth, Penn state, Michigan.
  9. You’re in a fighting mood today. I like it. Get your butt to Sioux Falls and bring that energy to the building
  10. Heck I think writing off Kato isn’t quite right. They can lock it down nice and tight.
  11. My level of optimism for us has not been this high since 2021. Even when we lose we lose with a fight and this team has an X factor that I can’t even explain. Everyone is 100% all in even if they aren’t in the lineup; it’s crazy. I just always get scared since hockey can be a cruel mistress in these one-and-done scenarios (as we’ve all learned painfully before). PS I don’t go anywhere beat the Fighting Sioux Facebook haha that whole thing is a joke.
  12. Oh FFS I said I still think we win and I still do (3-1 with the 3rd goal being an EN) But so many fans think this game and regional are a slam dunk and discounting a hot team team with a killer goalie. My point was not that we’ll lose, but that I was surprised more of their writers didn’t choose Merrimack (since at least 6 of those writers are east-based). simma Donna, we are all on the same team here
  13. With how hot Merrimack is right now (and for the last 3 months), combined with having 5 players with 13+ goals, having a higher SOS than us, and good special teams, I'm surprised more of them didn't take Merrimack in the 1st round. I still think that if we play smart and structured hockey we will win a tight one. If it's loosey goosey then we are cooked.
  14. Guessing Berry is watching his son play every weekend and enjoying getting paid for the last year of his contract. Living his best life. I have zero insight on this but I wonder if he ended up doing some sort of scouting or front-office work.
  15. Legitimately laughed out loud at this
  16. You’re right, he’s lowest on the team at an even 0 Pretty impressive seeing that not a single player has anything in the negatives
  17. Any Twin Cities watch parties to speak of for this game?
  18. Can you confirm that the sickness has run its course and the team is nearly healthy?
  19. Jax said that another school offered Verhoeff about 3x what we offered for NIL. But KV still wanted to come to UND which says a lot about the program and maybe even more about the character of KV. Loved the whole interview with Jax but that was a beauty of a nugget.
  20. Let’s play the “build the line chart” game to take our minds off the infuriating fact that Ollie is out. Stating the obvious- it’s a Major loss with him being such a great two-way player, great in the faceoff dot, and was starting to heat up offensively. Already playing multiple roles including PP, PK, and being able to shutdown teams’ top lines. However,We are spoiled to have Kernan as the one who will (probably) pop into the 3rd line center. Do we try to build another formal shutdown line? Guessing the 4th line will have less TOI than usual with longer TV timeouts. I’m conflicted on where James and Zakreski end up so I’ll throw darts at the board and ask you all to clean up what I miss. James-Rickwood-Zellers Swanson-Reschny-Strinden Croal-Kernan-Zakreski Menghini-Littler-Young
  21. When St. Cloud was in prep mode for the NCAA tourney in 2018 wasn't it pretty well known that Bob was going to be taking over the gophers coaching job? Then they laid in egg in the first round which was fun to watch.
  22. Wow I didn’t even think of it this way
  23. I'm nowhere near the ledge and am jacked up to see this team play in a regional. Honestly most teams that could get paired with us are not really going to know how to counter-attack when they get a taste of our depth at Forward and Defense. I want Verhoeff to play but It's perfectly acceptable to want older defenseman to play top-4 minutes when the game is down to the wire and we need an experienced defender. That's not a crazy take and having that preference does not mean I'm a ledgie -but I'm also an optimist in general haha. This team has a leg up on pretty much any team it plays- especially the nonconference suckers that haven't had the pleasure of playing a 4-line team. Add in the Dane Jackson x-factor they've developed where they don't stop coming in waves even if they are down by a few goals and don't appear to get mentally rattled.
  24. KV going -4 in 16 mins on the ice compared to Liv being -3 with 24 mins on the ice are pretty different. This team can generate offense very well but this team giving up 3+ goals an many times as they have in the last few weeks is our bigger area of concern. That's why Verhoeff is not yet built for big minutes during a 1 and done situation in a tight game. I love that Verhoeff has gotten to play big-time minutes all year. That's why I said Jax has been raising him up the right way getting him what he needs because a guy should have the opportunity to fail and learn from it. Verhoeff has good but not great skating, bobbles the puck when pressured along the boards, and still hasn't fully connected with his body enough. He's going to be unbelievable next year but he's not the one we want out there in a tight 1-goal lead against a team's top lines with 2 mins left- with Save that for Liv, emery, Wiebe, and Zmolek. Also anyone comping having a 17-year old defenseman to Toews as a 17-year old forward needs to step back and take a moment to realize the massive differences in how those 2 positions translate to college hockey.
