I wish him the best of luck, too. Stupid penalties in the college level are one thing; stupid penalties at the pro level get you bench time. And it won't be about size or college refs to blame, as stupid penalties are just stupid. Best wishes to him in his pro career.

You're essentially saying the only way to prevent these types of plays in college hockey is to rid the game of this ref. Is that your theory for if so, the logical conclusion then is that if he's not a ref, this will not happen again. It happened. It's terrible that it did, but whether this ref is on the ice or not, it COULD happen again next week. Players know the rules, but sometimes in the frenzy of the game, they fail to exercise good judgment and caution. Getting rid of a ref doesn't change that. Oh and the Shep is for the name of the best dog ever.

I screamed at the TV when I saw it. It was a bad missed call. However, I'm not sure he sucks so bad that he should never ref again.

I generally agree. I don't know the effects of playing goalie for three games in a row, but this team is moving in the right direction and I'd like to see the momentum continue. Then again, even if Lammy plays and they lose, they always have that feeling that the MAN will be back in nets for the next game. I'd stick with him unless he suggests he could use the time off.

As a Grafton citizen, let me say that having it in our own gym is not a real big advantage as both Larimore and MayPort had as many if not more fans at the games than we did so I think that possibly discounts the home court advantage. You put this thing in a big college fieldhouse and it just seems to lose it's charm in my opinion.

Perhaps this was more of a critique of Virg than the players, but I think it's realistic to say that these guys have been underachievers and simply pointing that out in any way doesn't make me less of a fan anymore than being blind to the team's faults makes a person a better "fan" for never saying anything but Candyland drivel that everything is nice and sugary here. But in order to be cheerleader of the board for awhile let me say I wish Brady Murray was fully healthy cause he's wicked good.

I think it's important to be aware of the women's team being in a building phase for a few more years and that it takes time to develop a winner. That said, I am skeptical as to how significant a place women's hockey will ever have at UND and I will only point to the fact that this weekend, the place will likely not be sold out for a men's playoff game. I haven't been to a women's game and I doubt I ever will be at one (until my nieces start playing for the Sioux in 15 years.)

According to the post game show, Colby Genoway was on crutches after suffering a "back injury." I can't recall seeing when he got hurt. Anyone have an update on this?

I think it's JPar till the end and I hope his performance this weekend ends any further notions about Brandt coming back.

I guess I understand your desire for a "spark" and I've seen a goalie be that spark in games, but this team needs a healthy Brady Murray to be the spark if you ask me. On a side note, I see the AZ in your name and I loved my time in Phoenix a couple weeks ago golfing and watching the FBR. Just a beautiful, great time.
