  1. Get your head out of the clouds. Its being talked about all over the state, and at major media outlets as well. If this was the only place it was being discussed I don't think NDSU would have held a press conference to appease the social media at the university of North Dakota. Get a fricken clue.....
  2. The key is to finish in the top five of the WCHA, make the NCAA tournament, end up out east in a bracket that doesn't involve a Boston school, and not have a goaltender that goes absolutely out of his mind against you in the NCAA tournament. Thats a good route.
  3. If the gophers goaltending is decent, and lets say they average an 88-89% save percentage and a 2.6 GAA they should win the league. With the talent they have offensively teams will likely have to score four goals to beat them or play tremendously in their own end. Their top two lines will be tough to match up against, and they have a ton of experience back on the blue line.....Alt, Schmidt, Marshall, Helgeson, not to mention incoming Skjel. Trying not to be too much of a homer here, but I think of all the teams in the WCHA, UND probably matches up better than any other team with Minnesota. I think its a toss up between which defensive unit is better, and right now I'll call UND's goaltending better with Saunders being a seasoned vet who saw a rubber factory worth of pucks in his career in Bama.
  4. Ohh you're not kidding.....The chips just end up falling the right way for some teams.
  5. There you go sir.....you're right. I'm wrong....thought NDSU would possibly take the high road....
  6. Palm to face smiley.....
  7. I kind of have the opposite feeling. Something has to be done now that we have a guilty plea (cough....victims). How do you punish these players? I think they sit against Youngstown and then Bison nation will go with "Ohhh see....we benched our players against the number three team in the country on homecoming...see!!!!! see!!!!!"
  8. Game suspensions and mandatory alcohol evaluations and education doesn't qualify as a punishment in your book?
  9. Post makes complete sense from the source it comes from.....an NDSU troll on the board acting like a pompous idiot. Not the first time.
  10. I'm not affraid to say that I've admired Craig Bohl during his time in Fargo. I met him on campus one day when my brother was attending NDSU and we were at the BSA playing raquetball. I was wearing all Sioux gear and gave him a jab about UND having the Nickel, and he was very professional about it, and took time to talk for a few moments. I still want to think that Bohl has control of this situation, and they will right this wrong that has occurred here.
  11. Thought exactly the same thing today after watching an episode of through these doors or whatever it's called. Not many teams get their entire top unit back from the season before and had Nelson decided to stay I think UND might have gotten a vote or two more for the top spot in the league. Chemistry is a wonderful thing and Knight-Nelson-Kristo had a bit of it.
  12. Best time of the year. The time of the year when all the big predictions are made and half way through the season we throw them out the door. Could anyone not named Minnesota or Boston College please win the national championship?

    Week 6 EWU

This will be the true road introduction to the big sky. UND does not match up well defensively which means a Wild West shootout on the road if they want to win. If the defense holds them to 25 or less they have a chance.
  14. I think UND still finishes in the middle of the pack in the big sky. Still taking baby steps.
  15. Always enjoy this thread. I'll take Rowney.
  16. Gap play was terrible. You know you have issues when a qb scores from three yards out on a straight sneak.
  17. If you can't tackle on defense and stop the run you will lose most of the time.
  18. You know.....Before this all came out I was anxious to hear the fine details. Now that we have a detail by detail report I wish I hadn't.
  19. I was at a game once where his team blew a two goal lead....totally serious Brian....totally....
  20. I by the grace of God found myself at a hockey party too when I was at UND....one time.....epic.....just fricken epic.....probably laws broken too. Dean Blais was the head coach.....FYI.
  21. Ahhh.....now its turned into a Hakstol has no control thing......here we go.
  22. Agreed. This horse has been beaten, brought back to life, and beaten again. People have their opinions of what happened, which is why we all come to the board to get it off our chests (or get away from the wives) . I'd rather be talking about the goaltending situation, or defensive pairings, or powerplay units. I'd rather get into arguments over that.
  23. I'm very thankful that UND's offense was able to control the line of scrimmage and run the football. You look at the boxscore, and it makes you wonder. How in the world does a guy go for 9.3 yards a carry and 140 yards and not get into the endzone? How do you give up almost 500 yards of offense, but only give up 13 points? I guess thats why we keep watching.....something always amazes you. PS: Nice to see Garman get into the game.
  24. Cut the crap.... I'll eat crow though. Bend but don't break, but they only gave up 13 points. You give up 14 or less on the road and you have a great chance of winning in any conference.
  25. Be careful what you say about the defense....or you'll be told to cut the crap....
