  1. Kind of had to rush out the door, so didn't get in the picture. Not that I'm the most photogenic person alive.
  2. Really no need for a four line game. Six shifts before a minute and a half break. I know six forwards that should play a ton of minutes.
  3. I think the biggest thing will be scoring first. Play with a lead and bury them with your depth. Need to make chewbakka uncomfortable.
  4. No....many gopher fans I talked to were scared as hell about the move to the big ten. This is the obscurity he and many of your fans mentioned possibly happening. Every big ten sign was made by gopher fans this weekend.
  5. The WCHA should have been represented in all four regionals. And I wouldn't have minded seeing Notre Dame in Grand Rapids and Minnesota in Toledo to split up the CCHA schools. *Note* I know that would never happen. Just Wilbur wishing for some bracket integrity and avoiding interconference match ups in regionals where it can be prevented.
  6. Very good points. Quinnipiac is the group that should feel the most betrayed by the process. They said all the right things on ESPN, and smiled for the camera. I hope they come out with a chip on their shoulder, and hit BC the moment they step off the bus. I'm a Quinnipiac fan for the remainder of the season. Well, until they lose to UND in the national championship 4-1.
  7. I think you said it best. A place with good service that allows you to have basically the whole bar to yourself. I'm hopeful to make it down to Minneapolis next year. If we do we'll be at the Hog again.
  8. One thing I've learned the past few years in the NCAA hockey tournament is there are no easy games. BC should make it to Pitt, but they will have to earn their way there. Minnesota will have their hands full against Yale. I expect them to win, but Yale was given second life today, and I think they'll really relish the opportunity given to them by the Irish. After watching gopher fans at the X last year have fun watching their team end UND's season I said, "If we only played them at a neutral site....." Guess the hockey gods have a funny way of making your wishes come true sometimes.
  9. Bingo. Doesn't even really matter what that fourth unit is. Load up the top two and go from there.
  10. Looks like all we have to do is follow USCHO from now on....
  11. The Duluth theory can't happen if we don't end up out east playing ECAC/Atlantic ten schools..... Hey, we know you're the number one seed Qunnipiac.....but we are going to have you play a higher ranked team because we are idiots at putting tournament locations together that will draw fans so we can break even. Plus the last time we made BC play away from the coast they didn't make the frozen four....
  12. Hopefully the Catholic church has no issues with a Norwegian Lutheran at their mass.....
  13. If a Notre Dame victory means BC and Minnesota end up in the same region I may attend Mass tomorrow morning.

    CC v. Wisco

Not only that. He of all players was named the MVP.....
  15. It was kind of tough walking out of the rink tonight. Not sure when I'll get back to the X. Maybe a regional in the future? Maybe a frozen four? The NCHC tourny won't hold a candle to the Final Five. But we'll follow the Sioux a few miles west next year. Also sad that the same night is the last time behind the bench for Jack Parker. One of the true great individuals in college hockey. I'm hopeful we see him around the college game in some capacity.
  16. Lol.....I'm going to find him a sacred heart hockey jersey. Unacceptable.....

I'm going to jump onto the Howe was robbed bandwagon. Rumpel was very good the entire weekend, and I'm not going to complain about his selection, but Joe Howe made a number of tremendous saves to keep his team alive Thursday-Saturday. And any kid that shuts out Minnesota in their backyard in the conference tournament is on the all tournament team in my book. I kind of thought Howe would be the MVP......no love for goalies!
  18. My old man has the gift of gab, he just surprises the hell out of me sometimes. He basically was the emcee for my wedding reception, and just had people rolling. His comment about it not being a wake was pretty spot on. We have a lot of season to go..... I still just.....uffff.....Holy Cross dad.....Holy Cross.
  19. Great to meet you sir! Crosby ND is only a short drive from Williston. If you are ever in town and want to catch a drink and catch a hockey game please call me. Love to meet fighting sioux gurus like yourself.

    Hobey Baker

You were talking about disgraces. So I listed my disgrace.
  21. What do you mean it wasn't a five? The gopher fans behind me who couldn't see the play because it was in a blind spot on the ice for us were all sure it was a five? Haven't seen a replay so I can't comment. CC was amazing on that kill. Like I said, when you take away Minnesota's cross ice backdoor pass to Bjugstad and they have to get gritty in front and throw stuff on net from outside spots you've got a chance.
  22. I've had a lot of friends that say I'd be a good radio guy. I've been the emcee for some jump rope for heart events, was the keynote speaker at the graduation ceremony of the high school I taught at for four years, and I've given some epic best man speeches. I think I'd do a better job than Bruce Ciskie....okay....I suck....
  23. Hahaha. Yeah, I've heard that before. Back when I commonly cruised the threads of USCHO I heard the same thing when I met fans at games. I just turned thirty, so I'll take it as I sound and look older than I am. Or just really well spoken....
  24. CC might have played a perfect game against Minnesota for their personnel. When things got testy they packed it in and gave Minnesota the points and blocked shots like warriors. They let their hot goaltender see everything, and more than anything got pucks deep. They normally don't dump it on teams, but they did against Minnesota and did a nice job not letting Minnesota go d to d in their own end while keeping a third guy high when they lost possession. Their penalty killing was sensational. Not allowing those cross ice passes that just murder teams. Weird days ahead in college hockey......SCSU could be done....Western....done......guess its nice knowing that no matter what happens tonight we will see the Sioux next weekend.
