  1. That Kristo goal is unreal. To gain control of a bouncy puck in the slot, then put the puck on the net, get his rebound, dangle a defenseman behind the net, before stuffing it in wraparound style..... Have fun in the NHL Danny.
  2. I think that Hak and company were doing their best job of not throwing OD under the bus. Yeah, its the five guys on the ice, but if you put me, Mafia, and Oxbow together on a line and say go get me a powerplay goal fellas, were not going to have any chemistry.....its going to be forced, and likely Mafia will just hang out by the dot like Bjugstad.... It had everything to do with the line combinations. Kristo had more space....he scores.....I'm not a bright man but I do know enough about hockey to figure out that Niagara had to respect three forwards on the ice instead of just two......
  3. Love that line too, but is it better than a Rowney with Mark and Parks? PS: When I said Drake was odd man out I meant odd man out of the top two units. I think you go KKR-RPM, then Cags-Pattyn-St. Clair, and the fourth line is whoever with Gaarder. Although I thought that Gaarder-Pattyn-St. Clair played extremely well together.
  4. I said it before....how does he play every third shift for two periods....and then sit the entire third period? Just....what? I pick the third period lineup...
  5. That works for me too. Just keep two scoring units on the ice that can wear Yale down.
  6. Dirty play......in the pros there would have been a fight after that one. I've never seen Knight that completely ready to kill somebody.....wow. Odd man out in the lineup now is Drake. Going with the seasons on the line lineup got the team the lead and just gave Niagara no hope for the rest of the game. At the end they put Mark up with Knight and Kristo and rode them to the end. The mix matching continues.... My lines tomorrow: Knight-Kristo-Rocco Parks-Rowney-Mark Gaarder-Pattyn-St. Clair Fill in fourth unit forwards....Chyzyk, Drake, OD.
  7. Just seemed disinterested to me. Guess its time to make himself some money in the pros.
  8. I stand by my statement. Good goaltending in a hockey game is the greatest equalizer in all of sports where one team is absolutely dominating another.
  9. I think these games show how evenly paired the teams in college hockey are. I knew Yale wouldn't get rolled by Minnesota, and I knew that UND-Niagara was basically a toss up type hockey game. Niagara has got a tremendous goaltender. And the great equalizer in all of sports is goaltending. I'm glad our guy was up to the task as well. And sadly, I'm cheering for Denver now.....
  10. Thoughts: ~I'll never understand hockey.....ever.....OD goes from playing every third shift to not seeing the ice whatsoever in the third....wtf..... ~Zane was very good. Get pissy about the goal all you want, but I'll take that all year. ~Dillon Simpson.....just.....talk about a solid steady smart defenseman. Things are under control when he's on the ice. ~Need to keep Rocco up top......thats all I got. Three more wins......three more wins.....doesn't matter how they get them.
  11. Simpson has to be on the ice here with Forbort......rotate out with Forbort.
  12. Alright......watch the guy coming out of the box here....
  13. Put the whistles away officials.....put them away.....although you can't make it that obvious.
  14. Inconsistent. You can't let Pattyn get held and then call that. If you're going to be ticky tack be ticky tack the whole game.
  15. My goodness.....completely different team with the different combos.....its unreal.....just a different team....
  16. The day gopher hockey takes a back seat to basketball or football in Minnesota will be a sad day. Would love to hear a gopher fan chime in on this one.
  17. I just think that moving your season's on the line playoffs to a facility that only holds 1,000 people with the knowledge that that would be enough to host the event speaks volumes. We all have our opinions. I just don't think Ohio State cares.
  18. Moving their home playoffs to a facility that holds only 1,000 people doesn't prove anything? Ohio State doesn't give a rats rear end about hockey. UND adjusts their schedule, but still plays in their facility.
  19. I saw Nate Schmidt do the same thing this year. Got hit and explodes into the boards head first. I give the guy a two minute boarding penalty. But because Seratorre explodes into the boards he draws a five.... And didn't miss a shift.....
  20. Ohio State will just never care about hockey. Putting their home playoff series in their practice rink speaks volumes when they could have played in the Blue Jackets facility. I just looked up what was in their main rink that they got booted out for......the Ohio State girls basketball tournament.....
  21. ~Every team that wins a national championship has a player step up and score a big goal that isn't expected to contribute....ala Matt Henderson. ~Have to keep shifts going in Niagara's end. No easy outs. A lot of the time UND's weakside d has the green light to pinch when whoever they are playing rings the wall. Big Mac loves this freedom.....hopefully the rest of the guys on the blue line are aggressive. ~This cost them the game winning goal against CC. Rocco and Parks don't communicate as to who has the guy at the point, and it ends up in UND's net. One mistake like that now and your season is over with.
  22. Believe so. I think they are trying to get away from Olympic sheets for NCAA play. Which is one reason why they went away from on site regionals.
