Sloppy start. Break it out Green.
-
That walk back to the old Tabula/Library lot after the game is gonna be chilly for some.
-
Enright in the net for SCSU this evening. Portz and Salquist on a line together.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I have a relative on the North boy's team and I was told 2 girls from south last year on the N/S girls.
-
Very limited number of South kids on the South/Shanley team. Also very limited number of South girls on the North/South Coop. Not a ton of hockey players at South.
-
That team getting a 1 seed, and winning a game against a good Western Michigan team in the NCAA's before they lost to Minnesota is mind boggling. Probably my favorite UND team of all time due to the hand they were dealt. That group burned the damn ships alright.....
-
WFHS 5-4 over GPR in OT South Shanley 4-1 over Sheyenne. Williston over Hazen. RR over Devils Lake.
-
Busy night on the boys side in ND as well. Williston at Hazen GFC at Davies West Fargo at GPR Minot at Century Mandan at Bismarck High South/Shanley at Sheyenne Red River at Devils Lake Legacy at Dickinson My picks: Wiliston, GFC, WFHS, Minot, Mandan, Sheyenne, Red River, and Legacy. Possible upset: Century over Minot.

Do the Vikings lock up Sam Darnold knowing that they've got JJ under contract at least four more seasons? Who would've thought that Sam would be so good this year in Minnesota? KOC just knows how to whisper to the QB's I guess. JJ will be 22 in January. Sam just turned 27.
-
D zone has to get better. Need Zmolek back and MacDonald so we don't have to have forwards back there. The pee wee level mistakes are head scratchers.
-
Could Sam be the franchise QB? And he's only 27.... Here come the trade McCarthy rumors.
-
Figure out a way to win 3-2 each night.

I'm trying to get a full 24 in today. I feel like my start wasn't the best, but at the end of the day the culture I've instilled in this household will take over and guide us through today. I feel like although early didn't go great, I was still battling, and I loved my effort even though I wasn't getting any breaks.

North-WF last night was fun to watch. Race horse hockey both ways in a 7-6 WF win. It's funny to me that every coach I talk to knows that Mattern is going to cherry pick the entire game and he still gets open in the last minute for a breakaway goal. One coach told me he's the best he's ever seen at it. Credit to North. They graduated a ton of points, and they are out there battling their tails off in another game they fell three goals behind in.

In comes SCSU. They are 8th in the PWR.....we are...(closes eyes...looks.....) 27th...thanks for nothing Cornell. Guessing none of the injured guys are back, so we are what we are with available bodies going into this one. Most signs point to a split in this one, but this team needs a sweep like I need a tee time at Augusta. SCSU is down Isak Posch for a while, so backup goaltenders in the Huskies net this weekend. Last weekend they had a 4 point weekend at home against angry Stue and the mavs. Anything less than a sweep is unacceptable.....per @Goon.

Just watched the highlights, and our d zone still at times is pee wee level. Watch their first goal and ask yourself what Montgomery is doing taking a step towards the wall with the puck up top on his side of the ice. He basically puts himself out of position not protecting the house (net), then that guy gets a step on him and has a back door tap in. Later on the PK in the 2nd, looks like we are pressure box, but all four of our guys are on the wall in about a 10 foot box and Miami gets a fantastic look because of it. They got away with it this weekend. They won't next weekend. Happy that the group got 6 points, but being #27 in the PWR, we need a sweep against SCSU before the break.

TJ leads us to a comeback nonconference shootout win and people want Hobie.... There were fireworks people.....
-
Watched the last 3 minutes after @MafiaMan was texting me his doubts we weren't going to knock off a top 60 PWR team. From now on "Wilbur's luck guides our puck". Nah scratch that. Stick with the Muppet.

What a night of hockey around the state. With the web cams it's easy to follow it all. RR beat North 8-7 in OT. RR has goalie problems I'm told. Central beat WFHS 9-2. WFHS looking for a goalie too. Sheyenne beat Davies 5-4. Fun game to watch. Minot beat Mandan 7-0. The magi have a chance to be playing Saturday night in Grand Forks in February. Those were the ones I followed. I saw Williston was ahead of Dickinson and Devils Lake beat Grafton.
-
And we find a way again. 10-2. Can't complain.

2024-25 University of North Dakota Hockey Season
Wilbur replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
That team that had like 9 healthy forwards and Dan Senkbeil having to play forward because they were so short of bodies. 8 game winning streak with three lines in March. And people hated Hak.... -
Tuesday night will be interesting as Central and WF meet at Purper. WF can definitely score, but will they be able to hold Central under 5 or 6? Other games of interest include Davies @ Sheyenne. Sheyenne was ahead of Roseau in the third period Saturday before the Rams scored three to win it.

Brett Larsen from SCSU. If you've ever been to St. Cloud Minnesota and heard stories from those that work at that university you likely have as much respect as I do for what he's been able to accomplish. He would be a fantastic hire.
-
Said the same thing last week when he bailed out the team against RMU. TJ comes in and prevented this team from getting swept with some huge stops. Just wasn't Hobie's night. It happens. The third goal was an awful bounce, but getting him out was the right thing to do.

This win will go a long ways towards us getting into the Fargo Regional.
