Okay. Doing the rankings the best I can here. This is after the quarters: 1. Canada-12 points 2 USA-9 points, wins goal differential over Finland. 3. Finland-9 points. 4. Russia-8 points 5. Sweden-7 points 6. Czech Republic-6 points 7. Germany-5 points 8. Slovakia-4 points. If Sweden beats Finland they'd likely play Canada, unless a big time upset by Germany over Russia or Slovakia over the USA.
-
There isn't a bracket after the quarters. The highest ranked team plays the lowest ranked of the winners.
-
Ohh Kleven with a beauty!!! They must not like Broberg.
-
See they are both listed as affiliate players, so I'm guessing Jaksen heads back to EGF and Boser back to Phoenix. Guessing the Boser commitment was an error. Being a Minot kid we would have heard about it.
-
Kind of on their heals a bit the last part of the period. Can't complain about the score though. Sanderson is such a great skater. Just barely missed the Swede behind the net with the hip check. Would have been an electric hit. Score holds and.... USA-Slovakia Finland-Sweden Canada-Czech Republic Russia-Germany

How come forwards never lost the puck on penalty shots against me? Knight keeps the clean slate.
-
They won't have to leave so early now.....hopefully....

Canada and the Czechs. That's a sigh of relief for Sweden and the States.
-
Okay......updating things. At the moment who the teams could play in the quarters. Quarters: Czechs vs. Canada/Finland Germany vs. Sweden/Russia/USA Slovakia vs. Sweden/Russia/USA Canada vs. USA/Sweden/Czechs USA vs. Canada/Finland/Germany/Slovakia Russia vs. Germany/Slovakia Sweden vs. Canada/Finland/Germany/Slovakia Finland vs. Sweden, USA, Czechs We will know more after the Canada and Finland game coming up.

I've looked a bit and seen Cole Spicer as a 2022 likely draftee, but haven't seen much about Panzer
-
Austria guy cross checks the guy three times into his goalie then wonders why they don't disallow the goal.....I mean he was legit the reason the goal stood and his goalie was out of the play. 2-0 Czechs
-
Per twitter Jaksen Panzer is lacing up the skates for the Minot Tauros tonight. Wonder if thats a just until MN high school gets rolling or will be a full time thing for him.

That win in OT last night was huge for Russia. They avoid Canada or Finland for sure. They hold the tiebreaker over the U.S. and Finland so they can rest easy knowing they'll likely get a Germany squad in the quarters. No excuses tonight for the USA. Sweden emptied the tank last night against the Russians and seem a bit dinged up on the backend as well. I think our skill guys should have a big day. Just find a way to win the game. I'd personally love to see a Sweden vs. Finland Quarter.
-
Okay....Russia wins..... 1. Russia 8 points: Wins group with an OT game that is won by the USA. 2. Sweden 7 points: Wins group with Ot or regulation win. 3. USA 6 points: Must win in regulation to win the group. Winner of Austria-Czechs is 4th.
-
Both teams now with 7 points. Jumping ahead of the USA.
-
What in the world is Russia doing....where is the weak side wing? 3-3.
-
Sweden is all up in Russia's head in this one. Normally its the Russians finding ways to aggravate you into penalties. Russia won't get any help from the Canadian officials. They better just focus on hockey. 2-2 going to the 3rd.
-
2-1 after one for Mother Russia. If they win I believe they win the group. Interesting hockey info. Jaromir Jagr chose to wear #68 in defiance of the Soviet Union. Read that today.

So the worst that the USA can finish in their group is 3rd? 1. Sweden 6 pts. Russia, USA.......Can finish 1,2,3 2. Russia 6 pts. Sweden left......Can finish 1,2,3,4 3. USA 6 pts. Sweden left......Can finsh 1,2,3 4. Czechs 3 pts. Austria left....Can finish 3,4 5. Austria 0 pts. Czechs........Can finish 4th. If the USA loses, the Czechs beat Austria, and Russia loses that would mean a three way tie for 2nd. So then in tiebreaker one, head to head points between the three, they would all get 3 points in direct games because they all have a win and a loss. So then it goes to the goal differential tiebreaker....currently....Russia +6, USA +16, Czechs -11. Advantage USA. If the USA and Russia both beat Sweden we would finish second because of H2H with Russia being a loss. So the worst that the USA can finish is 3rd.....correct? Check my work @The Sicatoka. If Russia loses to Sweden, the Czechs win, and the USA gets any type of point against Sweden it would mean Russia finishes fourth in the group and gets a likely showdown against Canada.....

What in the bleep Slovakia? Plays Canada super tough and then lays an egg against the Finns?

So......with the WJC ending on the 5th, would that mean that Sanderson and Kleven are back for the home series or will there be a quarantine period coming back from across the border? -
I've always liked Canadian broadcasts that don't include Ray Ferraro. I've always liked Gord Miller. Ferraro steps all over Gord like a certain other color comment guy that we know well in UND hockey land.
-
Brink or Zegras for player of the game. Probably Zegras unless he's already won it.
-
@Goon, are you sure you are related to Bobby Brink's mom? I mean you could be adopted?
