If the run wasn’t working I would get it.. but this is atrocious.. take the easy yds.

We are getting 5-6 yds a rush this half.. run the ball! These crappy passes are killing us.

Im looking forward to a good game today. Nervous like everyone else about the defense and tendency of an overcomplicated offense. Bottom line.. to do anything in the playoffs gotta be able to win a game like this one on the road. 31-24 UND.

Hopefully his last 6 quarters and OT have built his and the rest of the offense confidence for a very strong finish to the season.

Having 2 relevant/meaningful football games in November to finish the regular season. This is awesome! Defense will have to show major improvement over the last couple of weeks. Hopefully both Siegel and McNaboe are back this weekend. Offense needs to keep rolling. Would be nice to see Gavin Ziebarth healthy. I would like to see us not abandon the run. If they are loading up the box on us like UNI and Indiana state then tommys going to have to make some plays downfield.

seems like we should focus on the positives at least a little bit at this point Offense basically scored at will. IF you want to complain a little bit.. Tommy missed a couple of deep throws to some pretty wide open receivers. That said he also threw for 279 yds, 5 TD's and a couple nice little scrambles. Isaiah Smith was a complete dog.. great running effort.. Overall OL was very solid. CJ Elrichs looked good kicking XP's and FG's.. Need to keep seeing this. Im guessing either the USD or the ISU game will come down to a couple FG's. Continued Improvement of Malachi McNeal The Bad Defense Struggled.. obviously.. Clearly missed McNaboe.. our D-line depth is still lacking. Losing CJ is a self-inflicted idiotic coaching mistake... particularly in this game. You are already down McNaboe.. why in the world are we throwing one of our most important Defensive players out there on Returns unless he is doing anything other than fair catches. Seems like we have a bunch of guys that could fill that role.. Eliodor.. Tai.. Siedle.. Skokna.. The unexplainable.. UND timeout to give Murray ST a little extra time at the end of the 2nd quarter.. Between that and some terrible home clock running. Should have been 24-3 at halftime. Just dumb Letting CJ return kicks.. dumb.. unexplainable.. bizarre. Murray ST's best offense in the 2nd half was UND penalties.. PI and holding.. some of them were really homer calls.. some were prob deserved. McNaboe and Siegel would have made a difference.

Zeller and Paye.. both super fun to watch in basketball as well.

So Im not a QB expert but I think Tommy had a mix of good and bad throws and calling him a noodle arm is just poor in my book. First long pass to BB first quarter I think.. As I recall it was a bit underthrown or Bo would have run into the endzone.. Drive ended with that stupid fake FG. I think he also hit skokna in the hands on this drive in the endzone but I dont remember. 20 yd TD pass to Belqust in Q3.. I remember that being a very nice throw. on the game tying drive.. I think he had a super nice pass right into JW hands that was dropped.. He had a nice throw to Klein and scrambled like a boss OT TD to Q was a thing of beauty.. You gotta give Tommy some credit. He played very poorly against UNI and for prob 2.75 Quarters on Saturday.. but he also threw for 273 yds and 4 TD and many of those yds and TD's are when it mattered. By the way.. you can still keep me on the list of people that really wanted to see a significant amount of Feeney last Saturday, but as least some of that fault for the game has to go to the O-line which needs to find its way back to the NDSU game and the play calling which has been substantially not awesome.

To be fair.. the offense looked completely inept at UNI.. and for the first 2 quarters and a good chunk of the 3rd quarter at the game yesterday as well. Both teams scored more pts in the 4th quarter than they scored the rest of the game. You have to give Tommy a ton of credit for the last quarter and OT but i think its also fair to say where has that been. I for 1 am tired of the trick plays, short passes and bubble screens. I want to see Tommy play with the confidence he did in the last drive and the overtime throwing the ball further than 3 yrds and scrambling. I hope those two drives are the catalyst for the rest of the season. Also Quincy has got to be one of the most valuable players on the offense... making some nice plays at TE and makes the 3rd or 4th and short automatic even with the line totally stacked.

Based on the way the last two games or at least 7 of the last 8 quarters have gone from an offensive perspective its really hard to be supportive of Freund. I love a good trick play as much or more than the next guy.. I hate our reliance on it. Im super tired of all of the short little passes to the outside particularly with all of the teams just out there sitting on them on us. Even with all of the issues today.. we still had the game won if the coaches had just kicked the short field goal and gone for 1 instead of going for 2 for no reason. While Im annoyed with the game Im still happy we won.. A bad win is still way better than a loss. Indiana State is not Western Illinois no matter what the record says. Somehow this team needs to return to the mindset of the NDSU game. If we can do that there is no reason we cant win the next 3 games. We should be able to beat Murray State, USD just got spanked by SDSU as bad or worse than we did and they have a tough game next week against the Salukis, and the Illinois State game will also be tough but winnable if we can refocus.

Can always hope 7-4 gets us in.. 2015 UND and last years Youngstown have some complaints on that front. If the loss to UNI had been a close game I wouldnt have any concerns, but getting smashed like that was not helpful. NAU will end up being a decent win and Boise State is looking good and SDSU is killing everyone. I could see our last game against ISU being for one of the last playoff spots as they will have a good chance of that being for 7-4 for them as well.

they were daring us to throw the ball over the middle.. they were totally loaded up to stop the bubble screens and short swing passes behind the line of scrimmage.

all that being said.. most of the pee wee football coaching legends wouldnt have done a fake fg when we obviously need a little game practice on FG's.. most wouldnt have gone for two for some inexplicable reason.. and most wouldnt have called two flea flicker plays. which doesnt mean this board isnt full of idiots . For all the crap people give tommy.. he had a great drive to end the 4th quarter and a good overtime as well. I think its time to limit danny to 1 trick play and 2 bubble screens per game.
