  1. Just a thought fellas.. 4th down punt is on bubba 4th down trick play call is on Danny f. fumble is on Otis.. defense forgets to play the 4th quarter Any of those variables change it’s a W.. losing was a team effort.. cheering for this team is a frustrating experience. Stealing defeat from the jaws of victory over and over.
  2. While that might be true.. i think the regular comments on him are overdone.. he went to a hs football game that his brother was playing in on a weekend he wasn’t traveling with the team.. I’ll take over reacting for 500 Alex.
  3. Just in case anyone is still wondering if Otis is a difference maker..
  4. Can always listen to the game on the fighting hawks app as well
  5. Down by 3 and we get the ball to start the 3rd quarter? I’ll take it! Holinka will have the defense dialed up in the 2nd half and the offense can clearly move the ball.. just need some rhythm.
  6. This espn stream with no score or down and distance really sucks
  7. We have a Maag sighting!
  8. Bubba has to be the worst 4th down coach in history.. he needs to channel a little costanza and do the opposite of whatever he was going to do
  9. Im also surprised by this. It seems like we have a big left tackle, who is supposed to be going pro (who brought quite a contingent of fans on Saturday.. very nice family) and Otis. It seems like we should be able to get a couple of yards when necessary running over the top of that big fella.
  10. I thought the d-line played great yesterday! Watching those sophomore and redshirt freshmen d-linemen roll gave me a lot a hope for the rest of this year and the coming years.
  11. I know we should all pick out team apart here in the name of “keeping it real “ but.. * Otis was rolling today.. fun to watch.. running and catching. They should throw him the ball more * defense played great against and offense that has shredded some teams. One bad play that allowed 6 after a dumb running into the punter penalty. Holding them them to 10 is pretty damn good. * kicker made all kicks.. looked good * I liked the offense looks with both QBs.. Quincy looked good.. but so did Tommy. * time management at the end of the half was annoying.. I was happy with the performance but not totally satisfied.. but man.. good D.. solid O.. good special teams.. I’ll take it.
  12. I believe it was well known that he was not playing.. but you could be correct.
  13. This is my hope as well. I think we can all agree that Otis seems to be a very positive force both talent wise and hyping up his team mates on the sideline. I thought when he was on the sidelines at the Drake game he was still very positive. I love the Otis story and watching him on the field and I hope this can be figured out both for him personally and the team as well. The outlier to this in my mind is the contrast to Maag.. who is also injured but was at the SIU game on the sideline. I would have expected that if Otis was well enough to be at the High School game on Friday that he would have been well enough to be on the sideline during the SIU game.
  14. I continue to believe that Quincy should get more touches.. not just as a runner. He is not a runner. I would like to see if he can be as good as we all think. I also assume the coaches know a few things and are putting the best guy out there. I assume Danny can evaluate QB play and isn’t starting our 3rd best option. Finally I hope Feeney is the real deal and beats the bison 3 or 4 times. Would be a great story!
  15. Just for clarity.. after suffering through two years of ketteringham.. and zero suitable backups.. we are so stacked in the QB room that we are worried that 1 or 2 or them will hit the transfer portal as they can’t beat out a guy everyone is calling a “game manager” I just can’t buy that line of reasoning.
  16. I think Quincy put one right on Bo Belquist close to the end of Q3.. it was the same series as when we went for it on 4th and 5 on the 20 yd line instead of attempting a field goal. I could be mixed up but that is how I remember it.
  17. maybe a little sarcastic.. Seems like we should be able to be disappointed in first half Tommy and still give credit for how he played in the 2nd half.. which still makes me want to see more Quincy. Tommy clearly played much better after Quincy came in and showed promise whether one is the result of the other or not. The defense played poorly right away.. Tommy played poorly right away.. then Defense sparked.. Quincy sparked.. Richter sparked.. Defense played a great 2nd half except one blown coverage.. Tommy played a solid to very good 2nd half.. lack of ability to execute a field goal and 2 dropped TD's cost the game.
  18. And I believe one of those dropped td passes was actually thrown by Quincy
  19. I believe you are incorrect.. we punted from the 35 or 36.. we were never going to kick a fieldgoal from there it was 4th and 4.. we should have gone for it Our next offensive series we drove down to the Salukis 20 yard line and went for it on 4th and 5.. this would have been a 37 or 38 yard field goal that we should have tried to kick in my opinion.
  20. committing to the running game helps out the o-line as well
  21. This team is so frustrating. Another frustrating day For a little bit of clarity/context 6 pt loss to NDSU at home- should have won.. this one is on Bubba in my opinion and a couple inexplicable calls 7 pt lost to USD on the road- this one is on the Offense some really bizzare play calls.. could have won this game USD is apparently also better than everyone thought.. they are laying a beating on UNI at UNI right now 3 pt loss to the Salukis on the road.. if we had a kicking game or dont drop 2 TD passes, we win this game. (I still think we should have tried that 38 yd fg instead of 4th and 5) No blowouts.. In fact we are all talking about how we could have or should have won all 3 of those games... All three likely playoff teams with likely 2 of the 3 being high seeds. Im not a good loss guy.. but holy crap.. we are not as crappy as a couple people are trying to make it out to be.
  22. We absolutely need to see more Q.. and Q throwing the ball not just running as he is not a running QB. You also have to admit Schuster had a solid 2nd half. 2 Catchable balls dropped in the endzone. If either/both of those are caught everyone is talking about how Schuster is our QB.
  23. ok.. that one wasnt a great call either. I was referring to the kicking game In the 2nd half 31 yd fg blocked 38 yd fg went for it instead of kicking 36 yd fg missed 47 yd fg missed badly. I know this is our backup fg kicker, but we are alos supposed to be a division 1 program. I would expect you would have at least two kickers and maybe more on the team that could regularly make <40yd fg. After the 1st quarter I thought we were getting blown out by 40+. The team fought back and made it a winnable game. Isaiah was awesome.. hopefully not a serious injury.. we have some players in the backfield assuming they arent injured or sick need to see more Quincy.. throwing the ball.. the kicking game.. uffdah.. missed fg's and kickoffs out of bounds Its hard not to be depressed and excited by this team at the same time.
  24. Actually the 4th down where we went for it was on the 20 so a 38 yd fg
  25. Just to be clear.. and maybe for a bit of perspective.. in this thread there were a lot of comments in the early part of the week how we were going to lose by 20+ and it wouldnt be close and we were going to be blown out of our own arena. We were 3 poor play call / play executions from sending that Fargo team back home with an embarrassing loss. going for it on 4th down from our own 20 interception from our QB who normally doesnt make decisions like that interesting reverse call on 4th down Ive got a lot of bison buddies.. and every single one of them that isnt a hopeless fanatic was blown away by our defense and feels incredibly lucky to come out of the alerus with a victory. The bison are not used to playing in hostile environments like that.. They almost always play all of their playoff games in the friendly confines of the fargodome play their away games in stadiums with little truely loud areas and win down in Frisco with 90% of the fans in their crew. By the way.. I dont need responses as to how they beat Iowa etc etc.. I was there.. it was fun. The bison are a good team and have good history. UND is closer than we think.. this is a good team. I love our defense.. lets get the offense to produce.. focus on the rest of the season and get to the playoffs! And by the way.. is there anyway to fix the production at the Alerus Center. I assume most of the stuff outside of the the long beer and concession lines is actually the UND marketing department and not the alerus center.. The half time hall of fame introduction was absolutely embarrassing.
