There should be no adjustments whatsoever. -

The brackets could have been set within 10 minutes of DU beating UMD. The travel and attendance considerations are nonsense. -

There are teams sitting at #17 thru #19 that were "so close" to getting selected, but weren't. Isn't that more important than being so close that seeding becomes subjective? Explain your lame ass logic to St. Thomas, Augie and UMass. -
....where hard work is just a pair of 4-letter words.

It's interesting (telling) that attendance isn't an issue out west like it is with the east locales. SF and Loveland will be packed barns. They don't need to bring in UMD or other headliners for attendance purposes. Albany and Worchester are struggling, however, and thus the risk of the Committee rearing it's ugly head and doing something really dumb. Hey recruits, take note! Eastern barns are no fun. Come join us out west, where hockey doesn't take a back seat and where our fans appreciate your skills and talents.

Bullcrap. Obviously Schloss has insight into the committee's feebleness. Still hoping the NPI is used for seeding, as it was intended. -
The NCAA could go a long way toward establishing some credibility (they currently have very little) if they used the NPI for bracketing. I don't give two sh*ts about travel costs. What the *&^% does that have to do with anything? Integrity in a national college sports championship matters far more. Go to home team regionals next year, PULLLLLEASE!
-
Did anyone else notice the Uconn coaches talking to James Hagens after beating BC last night? I could almost read their lips. "Good luck signing on with the Bruins." Two and done with BC.
-
I think it was some wild-eyed terrorists who wanted to build a nuke.
-
The NPI is what it is, decimal fractions separations or not. Let the chips fall and use it for it's stated purpose. Otherwise subjectivity enters the process. No one wants that.
-
Agreed! I think they lose to DU and land at #7, and will be tested to the max by #10 (Penn State?). I like our odds in a UMD rematch, should that be the case.
-
I give Boisvert very low odds of lasting very long in the NHL.
-
This is far too logical. But let's hope it happens this way. Would be a good prelude to top 4 seeds hosting regionals in 2027. Let logic prevail!
-
Gives the committee all day to hmmm and hah and make stupid decisions. Namely how to screw the NCHC and advantage the Big Ten and eastern schools.
-
Spoon has not been as sharp in the past half dozen games or so. To win in the nationals our goalie needs to be as good or better than the other guy. Not much has been said here in that regard.
-
I want KV to be in there for the regionals to gain that "big game" experience and confidence for the Frozen Four. The more minutes the better.
-
I've already written Augie off. Hope I'm right. I hate their style of play (Bemidji-esque).
-
You beat me to it!
-
The stated purpose of the NPI is for rating and NCAA tournament seeding. I think they will honor that purpose UNLESS it results in a repeat of a first-round conference matchup. I'm good with that. Placing a host school at their regional site is pure bullsh*t and the best reason to do away with regional sites and go to home schools based on NPI rating (hopefully next year). I hope we avoid that bullsh*t this time around.
-
Okay, I was zeroed in on Providence, who still is most likely to land at #7 (over 50% chance). Denver is at 0.5% chance of #7 and UMD is at 23% chance of #7. Got it.
-
Wrong. Providence isn't playing, they're done. UMD stays at #6 with a loss and moves to #5 with a win.
-
From the NPI site: The NPI, represented here, is the official system for selecting AND SEEDING teams for the NCAA Tournament.
-
I doubt it, unless they land at #7. But most likely they land at #5 or #6 and are out of the SF region.
-
Well we are locked into #2 ranking. Now just a question of who we play at #15. (Yes, it will be #15, and #1 will play #16) Also, means #7 will be in our regional, most likely Providence. I disagree with those who think the brackets will be rearranged for attendance and travel considerations. The committee should and will honor bracket/NPI rating integrity, otherwise why bother doing it.
