I’m still disappointed that I could get UND games on cable in the Twin Cities 5-10 years ago, but generally can’t now. Comcast even has a dedicated channel 999 that seems to always show a static UND logo but never a game

I wonder if any hockey teams have a dedicated individual skills coach - someone who just focuses on teaching an individual player to avoid the defenseman, hit your mark in your shots, create a scoring chance without relying on a “system”? I know teams win, but teams of playmakers win more.

Officiating is definitely a weak spot in the league. I don’t think I’ve seen a game called well yet this year.

I feel like ND misses the net on a lot of shots since the Blais era.

The St. Cloud player held Wolainen’s stick and took a dive, and UND gets the penalty. Win or lose, I’m glad UND doesn’t play that way.

I can’t remember the last time UND looked great before the holidays. We’re way too early in the season to panic yet.

UND wins two this weekend and not only plays at home for the NCHC first round, they also likely move from 16 to 11-13 in the pairwise, with a better chance of winning home games for the NCHC first round the next week: http://collegehockeyranked.com/forecast/pwrbywins/ This team feels too young to go deep into the NCAA tournament this year, but it would be nice to see them make it there and get some experience for the younger guys.

I like seeing Brock Boeser with 2 and 3 points on the weekend's games. I don't think UND is going to average 8 goals a game on very many weekends, but having a weekend where you get that kind of rhythm against a good team can really help as a foundation for a strong second half.

Do we have enough "rich kid" students at UND to support a lifestyle mall-type development? My initial instinct is no, and that even kids from families with money who are the kind to choose UND aren't typically flashy about it.

If Norv is replaced by a great candidate shortly, it might suggest he was pushed out the door. But I don't see forcing him out mid-season only to have Pat Shurmur pick up his duties.
