    SSM on WDAZ

A sioux fan posted this on USCHO, interesting interview with JP and Zach Parise, B. Murray, and Smaby. Click the 10PM news web link or also a direct link to just the SSM story at: http://new.in-forum.com/wdaz/ Probably have to watch it before the site gets updated with tonight's news (Friday). Here's a direct link to the story: http://new.in-forum.com/wdaz/media.cfm?fil...=7:24&end=12:18 (requires realplayer)
  2. Hammy has popped into the USCHO to let us all know, in his " I know more than anyone" style, that Stafford isn't that good. The "he's ok, he'll probably do well there, but we don't want him" (like whoever it was that picked MSU over MN) kind of comment. He suffers from enough Sioux envy that he may soon bleed green Apparently the gophs were not one of the teams on the list recruiting him, so Hammy can remain in his comfort zone for this one.
  3. Spartan?? MSU?? Actually kinda like those guys because of their lack of success in the post season vs. the Sioux, going back to, ah, 1950's?? Ouch. Believe Niki is probably headed east, looked like he is a quick little guy that can put the puck in the net, probably much like David Hoogsteen (as dagies mentioned). Guess the Sioux are filled up anyway
  4. Living in the dead zone of TV/radio, always look forward to these reports. Thanks and keep them coming
  5. After looking at the clips for Murray and Nikiforuk on Salmon Arm's site, asked the question whether Nikiforuk had an interest in a DI hockey scholarship. He is apparently entertaining the idea and looking at several possibilities, and the right fit. Wonder if Blais and the Sioux are interested, or is the roster filled for next year?
  6. Can't be raining on D(alpahbet)'s parade. Scott, maybe you could furnish Goon with some of your Bisonwhiz beer if he loses the bet. (Is that what's in your wheaties)
  7. Guess he was on so many of the offensive lists, they left him off the assist list, even though it goes down to 3 assists total. And I don't believe in the what you can't catch, you can't hit dman description. Defensive positioning supplants speed, if you're in position and good at "pushing" an oncoming forward wide, doesn't make any difference how fast he is, if he shoots, it's from a bad angle that should result in an easy save. Ludwig was never fast by any means, but he very seldom got beat by anyone at the college or NHL level. Ditto for Patrick. And many other Sioux dmen of the past (Hangsleben, Walker, etc, etc). Being a fast team but having room taken away from you by very good defense can be very frustrating. I think the current Sioux D are up to that. Smack, boom, bang.
  8. Is Lindahl possibly the son of former Sioux Mark Lindahl?
  9. I'd echo the comments on the play of Ohio State - horrible. Stood around, backed into their own end, and gave the Gophers lots of room to move the puck. The Gophs are certainly good enough to blow away any team that does that. The game looked a lot like the Sioux/Canisius sounded, the two losing teams seldom had the puck, nor did they do a whole lot to try and get it. OSU would fit right into the MAAC, unless they change their style. Wouldn't take either blowout as an indication of how superior either team is, other than neither team played down to their opponent's level of play.
  10. This doesn't help much for those of you "stuck" in Gopher land, but Midcontinent Cable, which has much of the cable in ND, will televize home games again this year. Unfortunately, Midco sold out where I am to a rural telco company, so I don't get 'em Scheduled games are supposed to be posted at http://www.midcocomm.com Here's a list of ND towns that will get the games and the cable channel on which they will be shown: http://www.midcocomm.com/und_hockey/ Dagies, Note that Williston gets it, so you should be able to watch the Niagara series when you're over here. Bringing along any hockey fans?
  11. Given a linemate, that may depend on the quality of the inkjet Apologies for saying that
  12. There is no joy in Fargo, the mighty a-bys(on)-mals, have struck out.

    The Golden Arm #4

Now that the amazing string of GA wins for GG is over, maybe he can focus on the "ofer the ncc" stat.
  14. Just don't worry about what Minnie fans say. THey are thick as fleas on USCHO since they won last year, and we'll hear the "parise is gone" theme every time he has a good game (weekend). Enjoy the talent, and hope he's part of a team that brings home number 8 soon.
  15. Awesome clips. Wonder if Nikiforuk is interested in college and DI. We'd take him in a second, I'm sure. Maybe Murray can help reel him in. If I were a BC poster, I'd start penciling him in (although he may not have an interest in college)

    Volleyball

Noticed I got who won backwards.
  17. And comeback wins sure beat third period swoons. Waiting to see a third period with the lead. Nice job, Sioux, wish I were close to GF with season tickets
  18. Parise weekend - 5-3-8 Not bad, nice comeback and OT win over Mich. Could turn out to be an important win in the power.

    Volleyball

And they sweep SD tonight (#10 SD, I think I heard). Don't know if "sweep" is a correct VB term for winning in straight games (not even sure how many that is, 3???)

    Sioux/Bison

And the other one had, ummm, Gorder
  21. sprig

    Sioux/Bison

I'd agree with that. Shouldn't be surprised at the conservative offense given the backup QB as well as a normal Sioux/Bison game. Was just a bit bummed (when I posted) that the O. could not pick up 1 yard in four attempts at the goal line. The lineman are large, afterall; 'course with no big power running back it gets a bit tougher. Bowencamp is rather large though.

    Sioux/Bison

Just about over. How long has it been since the Sioux and Bison both have had such inept offenses. Sioux 5 in a row plays of very short yardage/o-fer. Field goal good; guess the Bison need a TD on a 2 minute drive.
  23. purty darn good, i suppose
  24. You're right, that was the call. USCHO had the stats as Bochenski also. Would think the official score sheet would have it corrected, but who knows. Usually up to linemates to make sure the referee gets the assists right, isn't it?
  25. Did they resurface both ends of the ice between periods, or just the Canisius end
