Is the obstruction/holding/tackling/etc on Parise since WCHA games started as blatant as Hennesey and partner make it sound? Really sounds like teams are thinking stop Parise/stop the Sioux/ which obviously hasn't worked for anyone so far. (or maybe it has made the games closer?)

So what happened when Parise was going in alone on Moreland (least from appearences in you pic). Did he pass or did Moreland stone him?

Would be hard to believe this could happen again. Maybe stems from the Sioux history of great performances by freshman goalies on teams that went on to win national championships. going back to Iwabucci, Casey, Jenson, Belfour, and more recently Schweitzer, and Goehring (although Goehring certainly performed well for four years). Must have one listed there that wasn't part of a championship, but a successful team nonetheless?

Got to see the third period on TV, and actually, the Sioux did not do their last-year third period back-in. They took it to Kato for most of the period, and did everything but score. Nasty forecheck and total control of the puck in the Kato zone. Only in the last three minutes when Mason decided to allow the game to be tied (as he did for the Sioux on Friday), calling phantom penalties, did the Kato comeback begin. The PK was brutal in those final minutes, as it apparently was the entire weekend (7-14). Kato's PP is good, but nobody's is that good. Prpich is a fore-checking machine, much like Notermann. 19 is a good number for him to wear (wasn't that Bayda's). Hope the scoring continues, as he sure looks a lot like Bayda out there.

PK was obviously not going last night. Sounded much like SCSU last year. Two 5 on 3's didn't help. Mason returned the favor in the third to dictate the tie. Was interesting listening to Hennesey on at least one of the calls. Neither team knew who it was on, neither penalty door opened, as the score keepers were confused also. Noone in the arena had a clue what Mason called. Probably including his two linesmen. A brutal effort by this dolt. Noticed he's been piling up penalties in most (maybe all) of the series he's had so far this year. Inconsistent as hell, noone on the ice knows what they can and can't do. Sloppiness by both teams probably due to that. GF Herald article says Blais will start Siembeda tonight.

Interested to hear what those of you at the game thought of what sounded like a butt ugly game. Sounded like a multitude of calls where neither team knew who had the penalty coming. Blais in post game talking about stupid penalties and dmen asleep in the first period. Several forwards asleep also. Kato took a page out of last year's Sioux book and played the third period prevent.

Good Wisco post; I feel much the same way about Wisco winning it (1983) in the REA and the Sioux overlooked to play in the tourney. Still don't understand what happened there (Duluth being selected over the Sioux???). Funny that GF are the "sheep fields" if you're in Wisco, western ND the "sheep fields" if you're in GF (as GF players like to use a variety of sheep comments on the ice when playing western ND kids), and western ND kids calling MT the sheep fields. Get west of there and you enter the fruit and nut factory

Ticketmaster shows nothing available for the Wisco series. However, I could have purchased tickets for later series today, including the CC series in January. Don't know why the policy of ticket sales Thursday before the series changed??

Hennesey said the goalie was beat but the shot hit the outside of the net.
