Is there any pride left on this team? What a dismal first quarter performance.
-
Didn't realize McMahon sat out Friday for not getting any "hits". Hard to believe he's been a bit passive after seeing him late in the year last year. Also interesting are these quotes:
-
Your notes match well. Thanks for the report
-
Tallari seemed to have the puck a lot on Friday (listening on internet only). Now that you mention it, don't remember hearing much of him on Sat. See he had an assist on the third goal but that's it. Would have been entertaining watching Notes shut him down
-
Niagara's #7 was Tallari, who was involved in most of the Niagara scoring. Was he a bit chippy out there also, or did Brian want to see him leveled to teach him not to enter the Sioux zone?
-
JB again, CB is certainly giving him the chances to become the lead goaltender. Possibly he's been the best in practice? Would think that Siembeda would get some chances again soon. Will be good to have Canady back. Hope he's 100% by the following weekend (if not by this Friday). Speaking of injuries, Husky fans reporting that Hendricks has a broken wrist but will play this weekend with a cast. And Finger has a possible broken foot. Think I read somwhere Tallackson has a seperated shoulder and will be out 6-8 weeks for the Gophs. Sioux lucky to be relatively injury free so far.

Looks like it's three freshmen, rather than one. And Vanek on the point for the PP. Things don't always work out the way you plan. Lucia will probably always have the Sioux on his mind after the years at CC.

Check out the edit button, it will help you correct your rants. Good you don't use alcohol, it would no doubt create some serious problems when combined with the pills you're taking. Having lived in SD for several years and being a friend of a UND graduate prof at SDSU, I can say I'm glad most South Dakotans (none that I know) don't share your idiocy. Chill.

The only thing good about this early schedule is, if I can make it to GF, there will be a seat available

Clueless in South Dakota.

TH on the pregame interview with CB said lots of calls came in from fans saying they were booing the officials, not the team. CB said he got quite a few calls also, then laughed. Guess everything's OK in Siouxland.
-
I'll add I never doubted that they'd make a comeback and eventually win this game, in spite of the score at the end of period one. Maybe the topic of this thread is correct. CB did say in the post game that the passing wasn't as crisp and accurate as, for instance, the Manitoba game. I assumed he meant early in the game, because it sounded very good from the middle of the second on. Niagara, obviously, isn't Manitoba, as they apparently have good speed and came fired up to play (not that the Sioux weren't). Having been in the REA only once, at last season's last game (and win) against Denver, the place didn't sound that loud from the upper bowl. It does, however, sound very loud on the internet feed when the Sioux have it going (like from the SHG's on last night), so I assume it's loud down on the ice.
-
Wasn't that the Hale penalty, that resulted in the 2 SHG's and a PPG for Niagara? Seemed to set the tone for the rest of the game, as the Sioux overwhelmed Niagara from that point on. Keep it up tonight right from the start.
-
Wasn't listening that closely, especially to TH' comments, so I missed the fact that they were getting on the official. Suprised TH didn't complain more, or maybe I missed that also. Does appear that Blais, in heading to the lockerroom, heard the boos and misinterpreted them.
-
PCM, Sure can't tell what happened from the internet feed, but your explanation makes sense. Glad to hear the booing didn't have anything to do with the Sioux's performance in the first. Didn't really have any idea listening to the feed that the first period shots were that low for both teams, but after hearing 5-4 Sioux in shots, being behind, and TH's comment, it seemed that the booing was for the team on the audio feed. And from out here in the "dead zone" it did start to feel like UAA, Mankato last year at the REA. The wrong impression, no doubt. At any rate, kudoos to Spiewak and Notermann for scoring the SHG's and getting the team going; nice senior leadership there. Game was all Sioux from then on, in spite of giving up the PPG shortly thereafter on the same PP (think that was the one the linesman caused, wasn't it?). Would sure like to be watching this, at least on TV, but unfortunately the audio feed is all we have here.
-
Listening to the internet feed, the booing seemed to coincide with the players leaving the ice after the first down 2-0. Maybe that was not the case. TH did comment that perhaps the Sioux fans were still feeling the failures of last year in the REA, and CB was not happy with the booing in the postgame, as you know. TH didn't do any complaining about calls, as he often does, so I didn't get the feeling that it was that bad (again, audio only). He did mention the linesmen getting in the way on what would have been a zone clearing, directly resulting in a goal. I didn't notice the booing on the internet feed after the calls or the linesman getting in the way. At any rate, certainly sounded like the Sioux were a bit surprised by the aggressive Niagara forecheck, although with the goaltending a bit more solid, it wouldn't have been as tough a game. I'd guess they'll be ready tonight.

EMailed back and forth with Cindy from the alunmi site, which sports the audio link that did not work on Tuesday. According to her, it's a matter of a student flipping a switch to get it up and running, something someone neglected to do on Tuesday. I also emailed that at times other than game time, I can connect to the link and get music, yet that has not worked all week (since Tuesday). Response was that, because of advertising restrictions, the link will not work except during games. However, checked this morning and, the link once again works, as I get streaming audio music. Obviously some don't know exactly what goes on in getting the audio feed up and running. Hopefully noone "flips the switch" off before leaving tonight (whereever that switch is). Course, most of you in ND can watch on Midco Cable, if you're in a town that has it. According to the alumni, the satellite coordinates for the game should also be posted on the alumni web site. (edit, coordinates are now at http://www.undalumni.org/view.htm)

Very frustrating night trying to listen to hockey. In addition, a boring WS game. Somebody in GF needs to kick some arse at clear station (xl93) so they get the server up by this weekend Server still not up this morning, not that I want to listen to music at 7AM.
-
Seems that several of us cannot access the streaming audio feed as we usually do. Anyone in GF around that can get it (would guess if you are you're at the game). 'Bout time to call the station for info
-
The links on this page should work for all games: http://fightingsioux.com/info/broadcast/

Just a bit; icy roads at Williston this morning, but most of it is missing the corner. Should be all cleared off by the weekend.

Excuses, excuses Least we know you're legal. Freezing up out here this week.

Appears that Parise may have given the Sioux an inside track in the recruiting efforts at SSM, now and possibly into the future. Interesting interview on last night's WDAZ 10PM news. WebLink at : http://new.in-forum.com/wdaz/
