  1. As do reporters, as this GFH article reads that Olson took down Spirko, which I think is definately wrong. Maybe our own sudo-reporter can clarify all of this
  2. For regular season games buying directly at the box office saves you the ticketmaster "convenience" charge, but you still pay the REA facility charge. Assume the regional is the same, you can call and check at (701)777-4167.
  3. Sweeney, etc, said Rankin when the horsecollar was replayed, was Rankin one of the DQ's?
  4. Looked to me that Kato was very careful and aware of who was on the ice when they pulled their high stick cheap crap both nights. Makes one think it is Jutting led. Would guess they'd be a bit less confident (in the future) that they could handle the on ice repurcussions with Radke on the ice. We, however, will never know as long as they run and hide after the cheap shots. Sickening that players like that feel a level of protection because of the fighting rules in college hockey. If any team ever needs a lesson in cheap shoting smaller opponents it's some of the Mankato hacks.
  5. I"ve seen different names (Rankin, Olson, etc) in print for the Mankato cheap shot artist that did the horse collar on Sparky. Was the guy in the wrestling match with him the same one that did the horsecollar? Did that same guy end up with a DQ. I've seen it listed at Olson, who was also they guy who kneed Parise in the head on the waived off goal, so obviously he didn't get DQ'ed.
  6. Was Ludwig (as coach) on the Dallas bench at the midget tourney again this year? Watching his kid do a solid defensive job for Providence vs. BU on Friday night made me think of the twins (I think) again. Wonder if the Sioux ever recruited these kids? Started college last year so obviously there was no room on the Sioux D in 04-05.
  7. What in hell are you talking about, does your keyboard have diarrhea? Trash talk, my arse. Those were nasty cross checks to the back of the head, and in Jones case on Friday, to the chin. And the unprovoked horsecollar on Spirko. That cheap shot deserved to be pummeled by the largest Sioux on the ice.
  8. Exasperating isn't it? Practically as much so as watching Mankato get away with all kinds of crap.
  9. It's streamed here also.
  10. Toews>Tormey Zajac>3 Mavs

    Toews

They played this afternoon. Gophers won 3-2 and get the sweep. Sioux playing to move up to fourth place tonight.
  13. Aren't you special
  14. The Sioux also had Lamouriello in goal and Sparkov at forward.
  15. Wisco looked like they took a step back to last year. Played sound defensively but didn't generate any offense at all. Maybe they lost a little confidence without Elliot backing them up. Tomorrow night should be telling.
  16. Lee was not on the ice much tonight. And both he and Chorney spent much of the third period on the bench. Must be resting legs after the WJC. Oshie, on the other hand, spent most of the game on the ice, and didn't look like there is any WJC hangover left on him. Sioux got sloppy with the 6-1 lead, a little too laid back. Maybe all the Mav chippiness got them fired up to start the game tomorrow night.
  17. Right, just a 10 minute. Backes cross checked Jones to the face, and while they were getting into it, Becker ran Smaby from behind with a huge charging crosscheck. I think Jones got the misconduct for slamming the glass in front of Becker in the PBox. Jutting was upset with the explanation and Sioux PP but Mankato got away with a lot right there for just 2 minutes of PP. I'm ready for someone to drop the gloves on Becker, that was super cheap. On second thought, the Sioux made some huge, clean hits following that Mankato garbage, and it looked like Mankato has figured out you don't mess with Smaby or Finley. May as well keep everyone in the game for tomorrow night, although if Mankato keeps up this cheap crap if they have no chance late in the third, somebody is going to get into it.
  18. what is msu's head coach troy juttings overall record at msu? 87-103-28 what is msu's record at the NEW RALPH? 3-2-1 what is north dakota's all time record vs msu? 17-8-6 1st to post all 3 answers will win rare 4x6 hand signed draft day photo by brian lee.
  19. Hope the "taking nights off" have ended for the season. Not that the Sioux couldn't lose while playing hard. but more performances like Friday night against the Gophers, as well as several other first half games before that, are less acceptable now than they were then.

    Toews

I think you missed the sarcasm. Although I'd guess Sagard would be more than happy if Kessel/Johnson dropped so that both would be Gophers next year while Toews went pro. After the Johnson WJC, don't see how he will drop while playing in the USNDP, unless someone below him playing college or major junior is so good for the remainder of the season that they pass him.

  22. I"ve seen a large number of calls on the Gophers this year (on FSN) on similar hits. Even a few this weekend that weren't called. None, including the two called on the Sioux, have any resemblence to the Paukovich hit, which much more closely resembled multiple from behind hits thrown by Demarchi over the years. Last night CC got one in the first period that resulted in four Wisco PP goals. If teams are going to be aggressive, they are going to take some of these penalties, when forwards turn their backs just as the hit is about to be made. Why, may I ask, to you feel the need to rip the Sioux and fans, on a Sioux board, after a Gopher loss? Character issues?
  23. Learn to spell Sioux while you're here or crawl back into your hole
  24. Whoever this between period interview is (Sauer?) is very critical of the calls. Wouldn't get too down on Prpich, as his penalties were really weak, must have been reputation calls. Campion is making weak call after weak call, including whatever that last one was on the Gophers (although no replay was shown). The holding on Prpich didn't happen, not even close. In spite of the crazy calls, the Sioux came to play tonight. Not sure why they gave away 3 games to the Gophers before deciding to compete in one.
  25. WHat in hell are you watching, it was a poke at the puck and Zajac arrived the same time as the puck. Woog thought it was an Atherton penalty for the crushing cross check he put on Zajac from behind.
