  1. Here are three doorknobs from the east sighting in their 50 caliber before heading west for "really big" game, shooting at a steel plate. Unbelievable.
  2. Yes, the hockey webcasts had audio. And, the sample link on the sign-up page now works.
  3. Looks like that's right. http://www.lyngsat.com/galaxy26.html
  4. For those that have already subscribed, there is a football media day video. There's also a free short clip of the same. Let us know how the pay stream works for this media day event.
  5. Well, since I did plenty of complaining here and to the techs, I better put the last reply here. Sounds like we should expect the same success that we had watching video streams last spring.
  6. Would like to see tech give an explanation for that "connecting to media" hangup, as it seems almost everyone is getting stuck there. Maybe a one month sub. to watch September football might be worth a try, but, after dataflix, I don't want to give them another nickel for something that doesn't work. Also, last year's freebee hockey games ran without problems, using "default buffering" in wmplayer, but I've had to increase buffering to 25 secs to get the archived videos to run smoothly. And I haven't changed anything with my system since last spring.
  7. Thanks, I think I've seen that, not sure. At any rate I'm waiting patiently for the satellite that may be used, just in case a change is made, as, given my recent multitude of motoring problems, I may be "fixed" come October.
  8. Haven't signed up because tech support is just not getting it; is this datflix all over again. Here's my back and forth with tech:

    TV Games

Crap, didn't notice that; guess I saw the football TV announcements in an article, not sure where it was, or if it was an online article. Certainly don't want to see last year's Maine series again

Here's the schedule for FSSN. So far the site still shows the same satellite.
  11. The 1980 game is just starting on ESPN Classic.
  12. Hi Iceberg, What 76cm dish do you use? My fortec dish works but, as I posted the galvanizing is extremely poor. I couldn't properly tighten the motor ubolts without squashing the mast, a problem I don't have now that I put up an old directtv mast.
  13. I'd check out the systems from PSB. I think the new 90cm hotdish looks like it would be great, and if I didn't already have an 80cm dish, I'd buy it. Just a warning, the fortec dish I have is cheap, and the result is a very marginal zinc coating so the "galvanized" steel will corrode easily. Pete's prices are competitive, include shipping, and he'll help you out online at the forums if you're having problems.
  14. Are you referring to the archived videos or the compatibility link on the registration page? I can run the archived videos by setting the buffer for wmplayer to 20 sec, but the compatibility link never connects. I won't pay for this until everything works for me, right now, looks like I won't subscribe. My PC and DSL connection far exceed the listed requirements. What makes me think server problems is that I now often get kicked out trying to go to the sioux-xtra home page. Something is not working right there.
  15. The sample archived videos that are on the front page of the link at the top of this thread ran perfectly when I ran them last spring (hobey, hockey team appreciation, some of the live game feeds), but are very poor now, sound is fine but the video is locked up most of the time. The test link on the sign up page opens the flash wmplayer fine, but hangs up at "connecting to media" and never connects. Tough to sign up when the samples do not work. The site itself has become unbelievably sluggish, which leads me to suspect server problems. They better get this corrected, not real good advertising to sell something who's samples do not work well. Starts feeling like dataflix before it's off the ground The tech reply to above was that it was a problem with MY internet connection, which must run at a download speed of better than 500K. THey included the following link, http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/, to test speed. I can't get a download speed of less than 700K at any of the servers on the site, maybe tech should try again.

    Oshie Watch?

I believe the article is pointing out his intentions after this season, on whether he'll stay at ND for his senior year or go to the NHL. He is no doubt committed to be a Sioux this year.
  17. with a little whiskey
  18. Learning to "tackle" is no longer good development for the NHL
  19. Officially announced today, Seabrook to the WHL's Calgary Hitmen Key word might be academics.
  20. I could never feel sorry for a team that just a few years ago virtually tackled their way to a national championship. A little clutch and grab by the second championship team that was a much better team was OK, but the first one was total BS. Of course, if a team is allowed to do what they did that first year, why not, it was their only chance.
  21. Back in my day, the team was only average, you waited in long lines in -20, for a chance to sit on a slivery 2x10 where it was -40 inside the building. The new winter sports building was way too warm.
  22. Appears he may have been thinking when he left the large amount of space between paragraphs. Obviously there was little to obtain, other than blank space, during those periods of thought
  23. After starting this thread, Fetch should get the doghouse while the dog gets the bed in the Fetch bedroom
  24. Scary that two days after this thread started, a construction worker at the Canaad site in GF was backed over by a truck and killed today.
