MSU played the trap really well in the tourney, and looked way better than they did at any time during the season.
The trap has won the last four championships, maybe college hockey is heading in the same direction in the NHL where the trap is slowly adopted by everyone (started by the Devils).
Boyle certainly decided he wanted to play offense, and left his d position vacant more and more as the game went along. That experiment went one game too long.
And Schneider was awful on the tieing goal, got down in the butterfly in the center of the net leaving nearly half the short side open. The game was won by Lerg, and lost by Schneider.
Great defensive game by MSU. Shep was his usual inconsistent self, but, after the Shegos no checking allowed third period last night, maybe the WCHA referees are the best in the country. Sad if true.
We'll take your word for it, T, since you know him, but I don't have a clue what he's ranting about; does seem to show up here, though, after Sioux losses, like several obvious trolls have.
Top 12, at least BC and Maine made it in after all 10 WCHA teams.

Berenson's disrespectful whiny follow up to the Hensick post game press conference was even worse, like coach, like player. Quite a show by the Wolverine contingent.
Not only was it Goren, but the ENG gave him the goal scoring title for the year, over BC's Farkas, who has scored several empty netters during the year. It was Goren's first ENG all year.
Obvious high stick or cross check on a scoring chance, as opposed to the very weak neutral ice hook called on Duncan. Can't have it both ways, although it appears the gophs can.
