Be careful not to get a poorly made Fortec dish as part of the system. You'll find good components in both fixed and motorized systems here.
-
The only one listed on the wdaz site so far is this one. http://www.wdaz.com/siouxsports/ Listed as a basketball show.
-
If they have any TV at all, they probably have FSN in the GF area, including cable, dish, or directtv. It would be good for those watching locals only via over the air antenna.
-
Original email from P Sweeney read "two away games" so I guess we get a bonus.
-
Except that Gopher games are televised by locally available FSN, so are not likely to be on WDAZ.
-
Wondered if that may mean games shown on WDAZ in the eastern ND area?
-
http://www.wdaz.com/fssn/ Nothing yet on satellite coordinates.

We don't care what gopher fans thought. But we'll be sitting on pins and needles for you to let us know when Hak must go
-
After Woog's trips to the playoffs and FF's, he followed up with some really bad years, up to the time he was fired. Seemed that it was more a case of the final few poor years than for the lack of a title that got him fired. Hack is going nowhere until/unless he has several poor years, and, his career thus far can in no way be compared to Woog's prior to the firing.

If the "you" means people on this board, I doubt you'll find any of us trying to make you believe anything. You may continue uniformed and ignorant, believing whatever it is you want to believe.
-
Are these video streams, or just audio streams? If video, do you uplink to satellite for those with ku band satellite tv systems?
-
And there's the "you do it more than we do it argument", with the "I don't care" added. ROTFLMAO
-
I think it would be continuing his education, which is what he was doing when he was picked up to help out as a practice goalie.
-
You've also pretty much established here that you "really do care" what Sioux fans post. The Gopher message board posters created the bad goalie, toss them in the river idea that, because of the huge number of posts, became "truth" in regards to Blais and goalies, that's why the gopher fans are mentioned in this thread. I won't be at GPL to point out what has been well established here as Gopher obsession over the Sioux.
-
The Blais reputation for having bad goaltending came entirely from the year when Kollar struggled as a starter, Siembeda was obtained, played two good games, then couldn't stop the puck, which lead to the mad scramble of trying to find a tender that year. The reputation was mostly embellished by the plethora of Gopher fans that began posting about it. It seems funny in retrospect that the history of Sioux goaltending starting with the Gino era and continuing with Blais and Hakstol, is that the Sioux have, except for one year, had excellent goaltending, which is in total contrast to the almost constant stream of sieves that have run through the Gopher program (with just a couple arguable exceptions). The words Gopher, good, and goaltending will seldom appear in the same sentence, except for the die-hards that follow that team. Watch for Goon to post about good gopher goaltending, which will occur immediateley before hell freezes over.

Although you'll have access to a bit more content with the streaming video subscription, it's hard to beat your own FTA satellite system. I broke down and made the plunge after several years of frustration with streaming Sioux video that just didn't work. It sounds like it's much more dependable than it was, but I no longer have to worry about it, so, if I really can't stand not watching something that isn't on FSSN, I usually pay the one time 24 hour amount to watch. I've done this often with on the road non-televised events where the opponent offers streaming video (Maine, SCSU come to mind). Not since the beginnings of streaming video have I had any problems except for Sioux streaming video. I blame it on the huge contingent of Sioux fans living all over the country (world) that want access to Sioux sports; and the bandwidth issues it creates. Noone can take down the internet like Sioux fans can

Not only backwards, but stupid also, apparently

DaveK has just a few issues we all get to live with here. He's seems more suited to the middle of NYC.

By my recent can sale, that will be about 600 pounds/night.

Dishnetwork has announced the following additions to HD: The new HD channels that will be added on August 1 are: ActionMax HD (DISH Network Ch. 313) CBS College Sports HD (Ch. 152) Lifetime HD (Ch. 108) Lifetime Movie Network HD (Ch. 109) Planet Green HD (Ch. 194) Encore HD (Ch. 340) HBO 2 HD (Ch. 301) HBO Comedy HD (Ch. 307) HBO Family HD (Ch. 305) HBO Latino HD (Ch. 309) HBO Signature HD (Ch. 302) HBO West HD (Ch. 303) HBO Zone HD (Ch. 308) Starz Comedy HD (Ch. 354) Starz Edge HD (Ch. 352) Starz Kids & Family HD (Ch. 356) Starz West HD (Ch. 351) Dish also said it's introducing a new programming package called TurboHD, which is four different HD-only packages starting with a $24.99 a month offer. Looks like those who want may get to watch the CCHA in HD (CSTV=CBS CS)
-
Guess that's true, I didn't watch much CSTV, I found CCHA games on FTA stations scanned in with the traxis. CSTV is not available FTA.

My HDTV, and I'd guess most of the newer models, is set up to connect a PC (TV has a menu setting for setting up for PC), so, the HDTV can be used like a PC monitor, so the matchbox pro could deliver HD to your TV, rather than having to use the notebook of desktop monitor screen. I haven't set up a PC to do it, so I haven't bought a matchbox, but, it is a future consideration (although I'd like to own a notebook to do it, don't want a desktop interferring with my bigscreen space. I did see many Miami games on the FTA Ohio News Network (79W) and also scanned in some ECAC games and other CCHA games (don't remember what sat they were on) last winter. I also paid for the dishnetwork multisports pak just to watch the Sioux at Denver on FSRM, and, although I kept the sports pak until spring, I watched very little hockey on dish (other than Gopher or Wisco games on FSNN), since I was always watching other games on my FTA system.
-
That would be a welcome addition
-
I see a fair number of posts on visionplus that list channels in HD that they scan in. I'm not sure, however, that many of them are KU band, they may be getting most from C band with the big dish. I believe PSB uses a matchbox pro to run HD through his PC. Hopefully he'll check back here and can better answer your question. Matchbox Pro review There are a fair number of SD channels that have AC3 (dolby digital) audio, the traxis will pass that through to a receiver capable of playing that audio, if you have the equipment.

Cable doesn't reach out very far, but in addition to an unbelievable number of fans that have installed satellite systems, there are Sioux get togethers in sports bars all over the country. Without uplink to satellite, that could not happen. I really doubt UND can swing a deal with a major sports network like an FSN, but, even though FSN is major, FSNN is still just a regional network on cable, directv, and dishnetwork, and extends only a bit farther than cable FSSN, unless, the subscriber from outside region pays extra to get all FSN regionals. Not a lot different than buying a system, and, the uncompressed FTA form of FSSN, is way better quality than on cable or the highly compressed FSNN games on directtv and dish. When you have both dishnetwork and a system like I do, and get the same game on both networks (Gophers at Sioux for instance), the FSSN feed via satellite blows away the dishnetwork FSNN feed. It's very much like the same sports event available in HD and SD, SD becomes practically unwatchable when you have the game in HD.
