  3. It looks good.
  4. Well put Northstar!
  5. Great post NorthDakotaHockey. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the season. I have to agree. There is nothing better than being a proud Sioux fan. They may not have won the Frozen Four or the Broadmoor Cup, but they won the MacNaughton, were ranked # 1 for most of the season, and have two Hobey Baker finalists. Not to mention, they won the Subway Holiday Classic and had many players make all-tournament teams throughtout the year. It was a great season. I was on spring break the last two weeks of the season and my friend called the hotel after games and left messages as to whether they won or not and a few key elements to the games. A man on our floor enjoyed walking around in his Gopher hockey gear. I saw this and of course had to put on my Sioux gear. I ran into him in the hall and he had a lot to say about the upcoming game between the Gophers and the Sioux. In the end, he got to gloat in my face and preceeded to tell me that the Sioux played poorly and were a terrible team. I could just stand proud and tell him that the Sioux played their hearts out, it didn't go their way. No one can say that the Sioux didn't play well or had a terrible season, or just weren't good enough to get to the Frozen Four, esp. Gopher fans because they didn't get there either. The Sioux were good enough to go all the way but it just wasn't meant to be this year. I can't wait for October.
  6. I live in Wisconsin and talk around here is that she made it up. Things don't add up right. Too many inconsistencies. You'd also think that if they were really worried about the guy kidnapping again, they would have released the sketch sooner. If she is lying, poor guy who looks like the sketch.
  7. I go to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and we got a speech before Spring Break on drinking and we ranked very high among college towns. I believe 4 of the top 10 were in WI and 8 of the top 10 were in the midwest- Grand Forks may have been on the list.
  8. I lived in Minot for 15 months and that was all my parents could handle. We headed back to WI. The hills and scenery were pretty but Minot was a boring city, which I think is why my parents, well my mom couldn't stand living there. I think Grand Forks is prettier and has more things to do, making it overall a better city. I have been back to Grand Forks twice this year but have yet to see Bismarck again, but it was pretty last time I was there.
  9. It would have been nice to have Parise show up today with a big grin saying, "April Fool's. I'm staying with the Sioux one more year." That would have made a lot of people very angry with him for all of their upset this past week, but very happy that he was staying. Wish I could have heard the radio one this morning.
  10. "Bochenski is mentioned as the winner in this week's Sports Illustrated On Campus issue", according to the Herald. I believe there is a separate weekly issue on campus that is different from the monthly issue. Not 100% on that though.
  11. I admit that for the first 5 seconds, I was thinking we lost another one, but then I remembered April Fool's Day and when I read it again, I realized a real press release wouldn't' sound like that anyway. You obviously got a lot of people jloos. Those who are really upset about it, you should have been expecting a joke today. I don't think you have anything to worry about, Blais doesn't think he is going anywhere and no one is really speculating it. I'm sure he'll stick around another year at least.
  12. Greene played well in Green Bay. I believe he led in penalty minutes or was up there in numbers. I am from Green Bay and got to see him play in his first season there. I saw Beaverson play last year and he played well the few times I saw him. He has the height and strength. I am sure that as soon as he joins the Sioux, he will grow and develop into a better player. This season, I didn't keep up with the Gamblers because I went off to school. I just know they didn't do very well at all.
  13. I understand the bond between the long-haired guys. hehe
  14. Jloos-That was quite humorous and enjoyable.
  15. I think the short-haired clean cut is better. Esp. when they get to the pros-it looks more professional to have short hair than long strangly hair that goes all over.
  16. Zach has been moved to the Under 18 Roster.
  17. I have to agree about the scary Vanek site.
  18. They all work for me. This site was sent to me a long time ago actually. I think the girl started it right after he became a Sioux but it is scary.
  19. Someone sent me this link. It is actually kind of frightening. The girl took photos of her television and has a large collection. She dedicated the site to him. At the bottom, just click on more and it will come up with pictures. http://www.geocities.com/young_gun_all_stars/parise.htm
  20. Matt told me his brother was planning on playing for UND, if given the chance. I know Zach is a very physical and good defenseman. Not as big as some of the guys we have now but he possesses the same qualities. He played for the Chill like Matt and growing up alongside him, I am sure he plays fairly similarily to his brother. If the Sioux do pursue him and he joins after high school, he'll be here for the 2005-2006 season.
  21. "I say bring back the pre-'72 NCAA rules where a player couldn't sign before his 4 years were up. " I agree. Then they can progress to their fullest ability and will have a degree to fall back on. Especially now with the situation in the NHL. Granted $4 million is pretty nice, it may not get you as far as you would like to think it would. Either way, congratulation to Zach. I wish him the best.
  22. I supplied my comments. I was blunt.
  23. According to the Fox Sports Net North website, both Saturday games will be broadcast. Only the night game on Friday.
