  1. It's like having a good solid girlfriend and leaving her for someone and saying, "Hey no hard feelings, but I'm leaving ya." Both are some of the most talented players to come through the programs, but at they end of the day they both said peace out to the Dakotas. If you promote it's like saying, "It's ok if you come for a year or two, ball out, and then leave." Unless it's for the league, I don't like anyone leaving for another school.
  2. Couldn't agree more. Look at the 3-4 guys the Bison have had quit for "better opportunities" this spring, zero have moved on to better spots (Cofield to Western Kentucky is a step down. Don't care that they are FBS) Another thing I love is how the Bison still claim Jabril Cox. BRO HE QUIT ON YOU!
  3. Kids can be delusional though. Yes some of these guys will land in better situations, but in this case, I don't see that happening.
  4. Real question: if you put all the MAC teams into FCS football, do any of them dominate?
  5. If he lands at a real FBS school (Power 5) I'll be shocked. First of all, you can't tell me him quitting the week of a playoff game wont be red flags for any team thinking about offering him. Second of all, he is good, but its not like he is a future NFL guy. My prediction: He ends up at another FCS or back in canada.
  6. Looking at this from a "glass half full" perspective, it is nice to have some kind of depth at the spot. In the past this would have hurt a lot more.....
  7. I know it isn't mandatory, but I would guess 99.9% of coaches who have players who enter the portal say "See ya never." To the transferee. The only case I didn't get that sense was Thome (UND Hockey) when Scheel went pro I legit had the feeling Thome was going to pull his name out of the portal
  8. This is really really bad. Not the worst thing that can happen, but really really bad.
  9. I know there has been a lot of ups and downs this awkward spring season, but I do think the playoffs were set up to end the season on a high note and keep excitement their in the fall for FCS. I know Izzo in Fargo has been very negative about the spring, but that's all because he is watching the downfall of the Bison empire and he is basically on the coaching staff. I personally am glad they didn't just say screw it lets cancel.
  10. If you put into perspective that the fall games COUNT toward the playoffs, Mo State shouldn't even be discussed. I don't want to look it up, but who have they beat that matters? They are a 5-4 ball team, who plays undisciplined, cheap football. I hate to be harsh, but I watched them play NDSU, who I obviously don't care for, and the amount of cheap shots was astounding.
  11. All I'm saying is there is positives and negatives to both situations. One of the reasons Bubba has had success and placed a better product on the field every year he has been here is because he and his staff do a great job of always focusing on the positive of the situation and keep the players locked in. A prime example of this would be our opener this year. With all the talk of the big bad MVFC we came out and pounded a team that has shown to be a decent club.
  12. As I said, you can't tell me a little part of the players and coaches are happy the YSU game isn't being played. We had everything to lose and zero to gain.....
  13. It isn't a COVID casualty. Youngstown decided to bow out of the game due to injuries and the fact that the game meant nothing to them. Hard to be mad at them when literally every MVFC chose to quit once their playoff hopes were diminished. It's hilarious to listen to Fargo media dig into the fact that it has to do with COVID and injuries. No it has to do with the fact that they have the ability to do so. Why keep playing when you are playing for "nothing"? All the teams quitting are doing so once their playoff hopes are out the door. I highly doubt UND is too concerned, besides the fact that they haven't played for so long. If we would have won this game, it wouldn't have rose our playoff standing at all. If we lost, we were barely in or out.
  14. The more I think about the UND/NDSU game the more I think about how UND showed up with their worst performance this year and NDSU had their best. I know that sounds like an excuse because it is one, but it is also the truth. I also believe that was NDSU's best performance this year.
  15. This is exactly how I feel. The teams that are shutting down their seasons are the teams with little to no hope of success.
  16. Outside of Chatt., is there a team that had a chance to make the playoffs that quit midseason? Seems to me all the teams that are hanging it up are doing so once they have been bounced from the playoff picture......
  17. I'll be honest on this one, watched this kid play bball this year. I really don't see the athleticism to play D1 football..........
  18. I usually agree with Herder, but I thought this was a bad take. The committee has always tended to favor the MVFC and take them over over teams when it came to bubble teams. That is quite the fall from grace to go from the #2 ranked team to the last team to sneak in all because of one loss the the possible best team in the nation and a couple covid cancellations......
  19. I don't know if there are any bi-laws in play for this odd season or what not, but if there isn't, I would say yes. 3 of 4 wins are against teams that were ranked. The one loss is to the Gods of FCS football. I would guess they would give us a second round pairing with NDSU to try and make some money ha
  20. And yet if your fully vaccinated you "can't" be considered a close contact anymore....
