Even assuming that Oshie and Toews leave in 07, we still have (for now I assume that Chorney stays, because of Edmonton's minor league situation and the fact they have a full defense, not because he is not ready) I also think we may luck into 1 more year with Oshie: I count 11 forwards: Ryan Duncan, Michael Forney, Chay Genoway (assume defense), Shea Hamilton, Rylan Kaip, Andrew Kozek, Ryan Martens, Brad Miller, Kyle Radke (assume forward), Chris VandeVelde, Matt Watkins, Darcy Zajac, I count 6 Defensmen: Robbie Bina, Taylor Chorney, Joe Finley, Chay Genoway (assume defense), Zach Jones, Brian Lee, Kyle Radke (assume forward) Figure the team would like to have: 15 forwards & 8 defensman Players that will come in 2007 Brett Hextall F Brad Malone F Derrick LaPoint D Evan Trupp F Jake Marto D Additional Players that could come in 2007 Ben Blood D Brett Bruneteau F That means for 2007 we are sitting with 14 forwards and 8 defense. In this scenario we would bring in Bruneteau, I suspect if we got Gregoire of Nash they would come and Bruneteau would be a 2008. In the unlikely event we got both, is SUSPECT that Hextall would be asked to defer, but I suspect that the Sioux would never let this happen and would only take Nash OR Gregoire. Of the two I find Gregoire to be the more likely. If I'm not mistaken it was posted that he had a scholarship offer (could be wrong). If Chorney leaves, I assume Blood comes, but playing time will be tight. So I suspect either Gregoire OR Nash for 2007 I hope for Toews in 2008 2009 is a long ways away, but we have lost many "family Sioux" lately so I hope that trend stops. Also note that we won't likely need many forwards for 2008 and with Toews, that will likely make 3 (Cichy, Toews, Bruneteau). I think that will be plenty.

Even Trupp continues to play well: http://www.bchl.bc.ca/leagues/stats_1team....p;clientID=1413 Note the 4 SHG, clearly he has a little Stafford in him. Hextall hasn't scored much since early in the season. But has 1G, 1A in the last 2 games, the assist was on a Trupp goal.

BTW, I stayed and heard the band after the Saturday game, they sounded great, far better than 8 years ago when I was there. But since this is ss.com The one player in the horn section was way out of position, and cost his team, that guy needs to step up and hit someone, I wish some blues bar would just sign him and get him out of here, throw him under the bus...

Holy free flowing paint thinner!!! +/- doesn't lie, the fact that he is relied upon on the PK doesn't lie. It's nice that he can just jump on the ice before a goal is scored, thats a hard skill to learn. Don't forget 1/2 the games are on the road and the Sioux don't get last change, therefore if all coaches agreed with you, he would always be out on the ice against the other teams top lines, of course they don't agree. The fact that Hak routinely changes his normal rotation for defensive face offs is news to me, and him too... +/- is not valuable in comparing one team to the next, however is very important on any one team. AND FINLEY IS THE BEST!!! Your comment that he is lucky to be on the ice demonstrates a special kind of incompetence, luck evens out. Don't be a tool like the losers that were telling me how badly Lammy was playing on Friday night...

Finley had an incredible weekend, he was rock solid in both games. He made great decisions, including when to hit and when to maintain his position. I had to listen to a couple of village idiots on Friday at BSU, blast his play including blaming him for things that happened 30 seconds after he left the ice. When you 6'7" Playing in transition can't be your strength, further, you can hit someone, but if you take yourself out of the play, maybe a poke check would have been a better choice. There is a reason why he has led the Sioux in +/- all season. It is because he is far and away the BEST defensive defensman. I think he is ahead of where Greene and Smaby were at this point. Would the fools that continue to blast Finley answer this one question. Since Finley is not an offensive defensman, how can he lead a team in +/- if he is a defensive liability?

Wow, I don't ride, but that thing is sweet. Pictures do NOT do it justice. We got 2 tix.

Like any minimally descent hockey fan, I went to this game (stab at all you lowly Sioux fans driving from BSU to UND not through Baudette... ). The coach for Baudette is Fabians brother, who among other things played pro football in Italy. I stood by Fabians mom freezing at the game. The cool thing about this game is that SPJ beat LotW 8-1 the week before. LotW came back to win this one 5-3. What I remember from the game: It was COLD!

That was fun to watch. The crowd was loving it.

Also if UND wins out, every other game in college hockey is a tie, and every committed future NHL 1st round draft pick changes his commitment to UND, it will help UND.

I love the lower corners, but honestly there is not a bad seat in the house. The club seats are also very nice.
