To players, friends and family that might be reading this, I assure you he speaks for no-one, has established he knows nothing, and annoys us probably as much as he annoys you...
-
hextall is on both the 07 and 08 pages. both he and malone should be here in 07. expect competitive practices...
-
Strongly Agree. May be wrong, but strongly agree.
-
Don't, I think he likes that...

I think the 3 players that we will really need to step up next year are Kozek and Forney as we will need some additional scoring and Brad Malone (even though he is a freshman) because we are losing 2 power forwards and he is the only one we are bringing in. Also the penalty killers will need to step up anytime Hextall is playing...

That smile looks so strained... It clearly doesn't come naturally.

And that is a pretty important CHECK...

Not a chance...

My main point is not the occasional bashing but how it is taken out of context. Finley had the best +/- on the team. That is an exceptional accomplishment. Lee's prolific scoring rate places him with the all time greats at UND. They can make bad plays of have bad games, but overall, they aren't just OK, they are exceptional...

Very good insight...

Well then this probably isn't a thread for you...

It's time to give these deserving players some love. We know that players and those close to them sometimes read this board, so getting a fair representation of what the fans think should be important. Joe Finley, as he did almost all season led the Sioux in +/- with a +19, better than any other player including the DOT line members. This is because he played an intelligent positional game. We as fans don't have the right to insist what type of player Finley is. While he made some big hits, his outstanding positioning is what made him so valuable and so able to stop the other team. Further towards the end of the season we saw him crashing the net like a scorer. His slap shot is something to be feared. All he accomplished he had to do while having absolutely bogus penalties called. Brian Lee is the offensive defensman that the Sioux are very fortunate to have. When you look at his scoring totals from his first 2 seasons you realize just how outstanding he has been. When you list the players that have scored more points you realize that they are among the greatest defensemen in Sioux history. I can't remember the Sioux powerplay being better than it has been recently and Lee is a big part of that. We are lucky to have him. Too much crap has been posted about these players and for some reason it just keeps coming. A number of true fans such as Redwing and myself have continually pointed out the contributions these players have made. Yet certain posters continue to pile on. What I have realized is that many of these posters have never said anything positive and rarely post. I also believe some to actually be fans of opposing teams just looking to pile on. Further, the true fans, those that traveled to St. Louis, Denver, an Minneapolis overwhelmingly respect these players for their contributions, but some insist on nitpicking and blaming these players for anything imaginable. Also some think that every defenseman should hit like Commodore. That just isn't realistic. Note that there is a difference between being critical of a play or a game and actually carrying further. Many "fans" here have done just that. I think it is important to point out just how strong the support is for these two young outstanding players among the true Sioux fans. I'm looking forward to a great 2007-2008.

No way, that $$$ which only comes when we are in the F4 pales in comparison to the scholarship $$$ that is needed to compete in D1 every year.

OK, I wasn't going there but...
-
Now we need the Powerball...
-
This is based on the last 10 years. We would do better if it was the last 11...

Toews doesn't have a "bad option." The only reason that he would stay at UND is because he is enjoying the experience, and wants another go with his teammates. If he leaves this year or next we will live his life as a very wealthy man either way. We know he is a first class person, and if he stays we are very fortunate.
-
I know there are a few, but look at the class that he is in... This is my point. Also bear in mind that the 80s were alot higher scoring. Lee is an elite offensive d-man.

How is that possible with the games limitation? Would these not count because they are in Alaska?
-
I heard he was failing everything and would be academically ineligible anyway.
-
THIS is why you don't look at the USA Today poll

I have to say that Duncan's parents are clearly 1st class people, and it shows in their kid.

His being sent down was for a salary cap technicality. In the playoffs he will be back because the rule does not apply.
