Toews will not stay at UND because he can't play in the NHL, I think we all agree on that. However, coming back to UND also won't hinder his development. I think what gets lost in all of this is that he just turned 19. He has an amazing future regardless of where he plays. We were very fortunate to see him for two years and I hope the experience was good for him as well. Toews has already added to the tradition that is UND hockey. Wow 1 more year would be amazing...

Complete BS, the WCHA is still in the process of trying to build up SCCC, MSU, and AA, while trying to return UMD and Tech on reasonable ongoing success... The league is already rich vs. poor and until that is further resolved, we shouldn't add more poor. The fact is that I can say every year with near 100% accuracy that the WCHA will be won next year by UND, UM, UW, DU, or CC and the last time this wasn't a true statement was about when Northern Michigan was here. Teams like SCCC or UMD or MSU occasionally have a good year, but don't rise to the top and can't sustain it. Maybe SCCC will finally make the leap...

Quinipiac before Denver?

The advantage of this would be he could come back strong in 2008 and resume his development ans be a key contributer. If he is not 100% I don't think there is ANY chance he will get into next years LOADED lineup.

If you look at the UND players that have come from Shattuck, there have really been no busts. UND has continued their development and many have played themselves into better draft positions (Stafford, J. Parise (FA)), or developed in such a manner that they vastly exceeded their draft positions (Taylor Corney, Matt Smaby, Zach Parise). As such players at Shattuck must certainly be aware that UNDs program is a viable option for development.
