Why do I suspect that you are a 12 year old that has absolutely no friends. You have proven yourself to be wrong or completely incompetent with just about every post. You are not a fan of UND or the game. Couldn't you just go somewhere else. We are all worse for your presence.
-
Well at least we still have Foyt.
-
Kelly might be a walk on / 25% scholie type player for 2009, I can't see him fitting in in 2008, at one point Nolan was considered an elite player like Travis at that age, I don't know if that has subsequently changed.
-
There is some potential, but we haven't had good luck with Salmon Arm Recruits lately. We missed out on Nash, Street, and Winnett.
-
Yup, Derek Lee...
-
Both Toews and Lee who is a similar caliber of player. I suspect they would make room for both. I have no reason to believe that Cichy won't be here, but some folks think he is going MJ. Note that there is incentive to carry a big 2008 class just to help level out the 2009s. This cycle of having huge classes every 4 years is not good.

I guess you can take him off this list... http://www.insidecollegehockey.com/7Archiv...obey08_0533.htm

OUCH! Though he was a very OLD freshman...

So for 2007 we will have: Still waiting: Lee Toews Forwards (15): Duncan Oshie VandeVelde Watkins Trupp Kozek Forney Kaip Radke Malone Zajac Miller Hextall Martens Hamilton Defense (7): Chorney Bina Finley LaPoint Genoway Jones Marto Goaltender (3) Phil Grieco Walski I see no way that Bruneteau, Blood, of Frattin come in 2007. So if the hockey gods bless us some more Toews stays, I would suspect that Hextall plays another year of junior hockey. If Lee stays we have 8 defenders (assuming Radke as a forward). That is some stiff competition for playing time. Looking ahead to 2008: We lose: Phil Bina Radke Kaip And likely: Oshie Chorney Finley Lee if we don't in 2007 Toews if we don't in 2007 And Maybe: Duncan Other Juniors? So figure we will have 9 (1G, 3D, 5F) spots to fill if the roster is similarly filled. Already coming in we would have: Forward Matt Frattin Brett Bruneteau Brett Hextall Mike Cichy 1 more? Defense Joe Gleason Ben Blood 1 more? Goaltender Brad Eidsness The moral of this story is that the next 2 classes are pretty much set.

So this class finishes with a: 96-53-14 (.632) mark 3 Frozen Fours 1 Regular Season WCHA Championship 1 Post Season WCHA Championship And technically Bina gets 1 more shot. Not too shabby...

Latest Update of players the Sioux may be interested in. I don't see us getting another goalie until 2009 at the earliest. We have very few spots if any for 2008 so some 2008s may be asked to defer to 2009. I bolded the players that I feel would be a huge pickup for the Sioux. 2007: I think this is done give the number of returning players. 2008: Almost certainly some 2008s will defer to 2009 Forwards: David Toews - Shattuck-St. Mary's - Obviously Derek Lee - Salmon Arm BCHL - One of the Top Forwards available Troy Power - Tri-City (USHL) - From West Coast, smaller, faster forward. Adam Comrie - Omaha (USHL) - Plays on Bruneteau's team Stephan Novotny - Shattuck-St. Mary's - Seems to have come on more, plays on Toews' line I believe. Joe Colborne - Camrose AJHL - The Sioux have been looking incresingly to the AJHL, he is a top player there Cam Lamoreux - Drumheller AJHL - Family Ties Kelly Zajac - Salmon Arm BCHL - Family Ties, not as highly regarded as Darcy. Justin Johnson - Eau Claire N. HS - I know nothing Travis Hamonic - Winnipeg (MJHL) - I know nothing, but great player in Sioux country. Colin Phaneuf - Winnipeg (MJHL) - I know nothing, but great player in Sioux country (any relation to the NHL all-star)?. Steele Boomer - Ft.Saskatchewan (AJHL) - Matt Frattin's teammate. August Aiken - Westside (BCHL) - 87 birthdate so I doubt the Sioux will be able to find room before he is 22. Defense: Brett Kostolansky - Shattuck-St. Mary's - Top defender, but I'm not sure we will have room. Damon Kipp - Salmon Arm (BCHL) - Bigger BCHL defender. 2009: (Likely a HUGE class with many forwards) Forwards: Zack Budish - Edina - lets hope Finley and Gleason are doing some talking Ben Hanowski - Little Falls - Gopher fan with a Sioux coach, if he gives us a chance I think he will see that UND fits his style and development needs better. Sam Alfieri - Shattuck St.Mary's - yet another great Shattuck Forward Tyler Landman - Roseau - Smaller dynamic forward. Defense: Ben Hughes - Shattuck-St. Mary's - I know nothing Ben Montgomery - Shattuck-St. Mary's - I know nothing

Interesting thoughts. I would modify the last statement in one way. Toews should do what will provide him with the best experience. The money will always be there, and he will live a life of privilege regardless of what he does next year. If his college experience makes him the happiest, he should feel no rush to give it up. If he really wants more than anything else the challenge of a higher level, I have no doubt he is ready. I would love to see him go out as a champion, though.

If Toews and Lee come back (Perhaps if they don't) this class will be an NCAA class for the ages...
-
I didn't like this in the article... But how lucky were we to have Toews pick UND. One more year would be great, but being expected to win a National Championship would be tough.
-
Cool, I'm always happy to here that UND is developing good players and people. One item that you might find interesting is that at UND Prpich was not a scorer at all. He played a physical roll and was always a fan favorite. He was famous for irritating the opposing team and his trademark would be to skate up and take a drink from the opposing goalies water bottle. Many of us our very loyal to our team and former players and were excited to see that he was doing so well in the CHL. One thing, while he was nice to your kid, should you kid ever cheap shot and break the neck of his teammate, you would be wise not to let you kid take a face off against Prpich...

This is a chicken and egg thing. It's not like Wisconsin wasn't getting good talent, they were, just as this years talent was very good. Were they not scoring because they were below .500 or were the below .500 because that talent wasn't utilized? You have to give Wisco some credit because they did win the big one (at home granted), but high end talent ought not be used back checking in the trap all season.

Why do I suspect that you didn't need to look up these lyrics...

Check out this scoring summary. Must have been an entertaining game... Brad Malone got a goal. We still need to find a 3rd redhead to play with him and Bruneteau... Also if CSS thinks that Gregoire is going to slip to the 5th round they are insane. Or I am... Period 1 Sioux Falls - Zach Redmond (powerplay) (Corey Tropp, Jake Bauer) 4:17 Sioux Falls - Dan Sexton (Patrick Tiesling, Zach Hansen) 5:10 Sioux Falls - Zach Redmond (Chris Huxley, Drew Fisher) 6:11 Sioux Falls - David Grun (Stu Bickel) 6:34 Lincoln - Jason Gregoire (Jared Brown, Stephen Schultz) 7:36 Lincoln - Jared Brown (Stephen Schultz) 7:57 Lincoln - Jared Brown (powerplay) (Stephen Schultz, Carter Camper) 11:23 Lincoln - Patrick Johnson (unassisted) 15:41 Lincoln - Jason Gregoire (Stephen Schultz, Jared Brown) 17:40 Sioux Falls - Dan Sexton (Robbie Vrolyk) 18:30 Period 2 Lincoln - Travis Erstad (Mike Kramer, Brandon Bollig) 7:04 Sioux Falls - Brad Malone (powerplay) (Chris Huxley, Zach Redmond) 10:11 Sioux Falls - David Solway (Corey Tropp, Jeff Foss) 11:36 Lincoln - Jason Gregoire (Jared Brown, Stephen Schultz) 12:53 Sioux Falls - Dan Sexton (shorthanded) (Stu Bickel) 15:59 Period 3 (no scoring)
-
Yup, you win a Wisco series supply of No-Doze...
-
He and Earl were effective together... Quick name the last Wisconsin player to hit 40 points not including these two. I'll give you a clue go back more than 5 years...
-
If they are actually penalties... See Frozen Four... I am psyched that we are getting our #1 +/- player back. He is an absolute shut down positional defender and money on the PK also towards the end of the year I really liked his aggressiveness on the the offensive end. We are very lucky to have him for another year!
-
This is unacceptable he is 6'7", he needs to be a killer...
-
It's about F$*#ING time, you stepped up. I am so sick of your half a$$ed posting 50% of the time. What you think because of your draft position you should get a free pass? You are such a disappointment. We would be a better team with out you. I wish you would just go pro. I'm sick of you losing games for us. How's that?
-
No matter how talented (Skille) it is very rare for any Wisco player to get as many points as 3 of our defensemen got last season... You hearing that Derek Lee...
-
Eaves is going to have a hard time making such a talented player look bad and play a boring game. But I'm sure Mike is up to the task...
