On a positive note for Tech, this is the first time this has been a relevant statement for 25 years...

1) Sioux - Best team in the nation, should be solid throughout, solid D / goaltending, depth in scoring will determine if this team is very good or great. 2) Gophs - Look for a season like the Sioux had the last 3 years. I expect them in 3-6 at the break. 3) DU - Come on, tales of their demise are greatly exaggerated. Some of the best Sophs in the country. 4) Wisco - I like their young players and their home ice (though they will still be boring). 5) MTU - A solid 2nd tier WCHA team 6) CC - I like their returning core of players. 7) SCSU - I am expecting a big drop off, you can't lose that many key players and not fall off. 8) MSU - F'n Jutting that cheap POS will do just well enough to keep his job. Big leads needed so your 4th liners can fight 'em. 9) UMD - I think Sandy is coaching for his life. 10) UAA - Good luck with the Governor's cup.

There is always tremendous late talent available. Keep in mind one of our "late 08s" was David Toews. Because DU has great facilities, history, and *gag* coaching, they will bring in alot of talent. Riley Nash was a very late commit and he'll do OK. I think Derek Lee is a big prize still out there for 08. But also keep in mind, not every class needs to be incredible. DU has great 06, and 07 classes, if the 08 is down a little DU will manage.

Doubt it... He'll be back. His recruiting classes last year and this were very good. They will be solid. As for the statement above, I don't agree with it so much as I just HATE Paukovich who can now officially be labeled as a college bust.

I didn't realize this was based on submission, maybe it is? However, the Sioux have 5-6 players that are among the keys to the college hockey this season. I appreciate reading a little about Bentley, but come on. Taylor is the best D-man in the Nation.

I watch these for specific players, and was curious to hear what they had to say about the best returning defensman in the nation, Taylor Chorney. However it would appear based on ABC order that they have opted to skip Taylor. I know it's early, but come on...

I will be interesting to see if he hits 180, he still seems skinny. He will have to fight for playing time this year, but could become a fixture the following 3.

A couple of updates. 2008: Forwards: Done, counting Oshie and Duncan we have 18 forwards, this was likely done on purpose to decrease the size of the 2009 class. The huge class every 4 years is a nasty cycle. Defense (I think we will need at least 1 more defender, maybe 2): Corbin McPherson - Cowichan Valley - Big Player, 88 birthdate, 3rd round pick. Brett Kostolansky - Shattuck-St. Mary's - Top defender, but I'm not sure we will have room.
