Deserves it own thread. I commented earlier that when I saw him he didn't look like much of a skater, but others have said he vastly improved last season and comments were made about his ability to track down faster players. Last week I was backpacking in the Wind River Wilderness in Wyoming and I ran across someone wearing a UND t-shirt. As it turns out his daughter who was with is a current student. I didn't catch her name. Being that we didn't see many people at all and the area is somewhat inaccessible, I thought it was odd that I would run across a student there. Where is the strangest place you have run across a student to alum?

He is from Eastview HS. There is huge potential there, but he will benefit greatly from the superb UND coaching and facilities. I saw him play 1 game and his skating was rough. Not only is he big, but he also plays physical. Prototypical Sioux Oak Tree.

Let me add to the list of things that annoy me... Self righteous people who believe that scientists are part of a vast conspiracy OR that they themselves or politicians are smarter, more credible, and more honest than scientists... This one bothered me enough to get out of a scientific field.

Most sensible fans acknowledge we are fortunate to have Hak and I hope we have him for 30 more years... Lets review just how his seasons have ended. 05 - UND outplays DU in the national championship game, but gets bad bounces (Smaby) and loses. Entire playoffs were played with 5 defensmen. UND ends Minnesota's season. 06 - UND makes the F4 with a huge freshman class and lose to BC after a very uncharacteristically weak game by Parise. Grand Forks ends Minnesota's season... 07 - UND makes the F4, plays tough against a very good BC team, loses after a very untimely poor call leads to a PP goal for BC after UND fights back. UND ends Minnesota's season. The 2008 recruiting class may be one of UND's strongest ever. We didn't win a championship, but Hak deserves nothing but respect. The lucky bounces and calls and championships will come.

The Sioux will need 1 defensman for 08, 2 if Gleason is not ready. In addition, the Sioux will need 2 (1 if we picked up an additional 08) more defensmen in 09. In total we need 3 for 08 and 09 to keep 7 on the roster.
