I still think the biggest difference in the last series was bad bounces and officiating. Those things tend to even out. Maybe the Sioux get a BS goal (F$#@%$ Shepard & Stoa), maybe the Gophs lose what should have been a goal (Oshie) and maybe the Sioux get some real lucky breaks (Prpich fails to clear 3 times or Irman gets a clearing attempt as he steps out of the box). Tired defenders on big ice is definately a concern, but the Sioux have the skill to sweep. A sweep would be absolutely huge for either teams PWR. BTW, how good is the WCHA when this is clearly the #2 series of the weekend?

I couldn't disagree more. I read that article and think you are making a mountain of a mole hill. Toews comments were quite innocent and not mean spirited. Also know that Toews was there to win a championship as was Oshie, two conflicting goals. This site maybe. But, trust me there is alot worse on the internet.

OK so while the Fighting Sioux's record isn't outstanding, the PWR and KRACH seem high enough. In addition, we do have a fairly easy schedule the rest of the way. I expect that the Sioux will make the tournement as a #2 seed and will host Minnesota as the #1 seed. I expect that 4 teams from the WCHA will make the tournement and will NOT be placed into 4 brackets as that would result in another all WCHA F4. I also expect that the Sioux's play will improve relative to other teams as this season progresses. I also must confess that the Poll tools are way cooler than they used to be and I wanted to play with them.

It was a record. Also the 87 Sioux had many more losses. However, they did play a much tougher schedule.
