I thought I would try to just summarize who some of the big name available players are for 2006 / 2007 that the Sioux may be interested in. Eric Gryba - Possibly the next in a long line of UND Blue Line Monsters. Darcy Zajac - Doing well in the BCHL, brother of Travis. Kai Kantola - Only A player in NAHL, currently in Fargo, I believe mentioned only by other posters. Jim O'Brian - Big RW National Team Player. Brad Thiessen - Maybe #2 BCHL Goalie, DU got #1. Your Thoughts...

This is still a ways away, but I thought I would start a current thread. I really think that when you look at the big picture the Sioux have to be happy with where they are right now. With the large freshman class and a terribly difficult schedule they have come through quite nicely. The defense looks OK and will only get better. The offense is not quite clicking, but there have been moments. By pulling out some big wins the Sioux have set them selves up for a strong PWR later in the year. The MTU series is a good change to smooth out some offensive kinks and get 4 points. Will Kozak get it going? Will Finley destroy Scott? Will the Sioux have less penalties that the Charlestown Chiefs? This team now needs to do what Sioux teams histroically do, improve over the course of the season.

It was aweful, I actually worked yesterday. I feel so dirty...

I think they should win every game. Thus there will be disappointment.

OK, but I suspect that Okposo was a Sioux target since he was a Shattuck standout. They go both ways. Both schools get most of their recruits. I would focus more on how the two schools develop players. There I think UND has a big advantage recently. Fabian, JPar, Bina, Schneider, Panzers, Hoogsteens, Karl, and the like were NOT first tier recruits, but have become/became solid WCHA contributers.

I think that fans should wear diving caps and go to the game as the Robbie Earl Diving Team Fan Club.

Where have I heard this discussion before? Ah yes, now I recall... http://siouxsports.com/forums/index.php?sh...pic=3792&st=180 I can't count the hours of enjoyment I've gotten from this thread. Keep playing Lam. I don't think that he is the issue. Both are great goalies. The sioux need 6 strong periods this weekend.

Thanks for the heads up. Gophers haven't played anyone. Shouldn't be ranked. Beaten by bad teams. Only schedule cupcakes. Kessle is afraid of good teams. Lucia has a Nanook fetish. Would be 25 games under .500 if they played the Sioux schedule. Should move to CHA.

7-3-2. What does the winner get?

Glad to hear Fabian is OK.

Smith... Oooohhh the crazies are talking, I'm game... I'll take your list and raise you a USDP Blue Chipper (Jim O'Brian). Possibly as a 2007.

And your Dogs can't compete with our hockey team, I'll take that tradeoff...

Can't move up much...

If there is one thing we have learned is that it is March and April that matter...

Nice job by the WCHA on the no-brainer easy correct decision...
-
Marto just sounds like a great athlete to me. We need ot get him on that Gopher juice though... I also expect that any defensive liabilities WILL be corrected at UND for Forney.

Lammy is a great goalie and we will need him. I hope he gets the nod on Friday. Show some confidence. JPar on Saturday. EDIT: Lammy needs a real nickname... Lammy sucks...

Wisconsin wasn't very good for a long stretch so that kind of diminished the rivalry. BTW our official rival is SCCC.

OK then, what Osama Bin Laden did he did in 2001, therefore it doesn't matter now... Note I'm not making a relative statement between the two, only pointing out the flaw in the logic.

Yup, look at Statsny's vicious hit... Your such a goon...
-
First and foremost, Best wishes for a speedy recovery to the DU player Trotter. I watched that hit 30 times and it was clean but very hard. Really a great play be Smaby. The stick came up, but that was a result of the contact and only 1 hand was on the stick. Still I hate to see a clean player get hurt. Read not Paukovich. Statsny's penalty was vicious and I'm glad he got tossed. That was Paukovich's play all over again, with out the results. I'm glad that Shepard didn't hesitate to call that. Clearly there is a DU trend. There were other questionable hits both sides (Lee) but nothing like that. I thought that the officiating was good. The 5 min. for running Parise was a bad call as was the 2 min on Finley for roughing (DU player was holding him down after getting crushed, maybe should have been 2 min both ways). Great hitting by the Sioux I saw outstanding hits from Smaby, Finley, and Prpich. Smaby and Finley hits were some of the best Sioux hits I have ever seen. How did Watkin's miss the goal on passes from Zajac and Stafford? The Sioux were buzzing, but lost their intensity, hope they find it again tonight.
