  1. I'm really interested to see how it ends up with Lindberg and Mooney. The conventional wisdom would lead you to believe at the beginning of the process that Lindberg would end up at UND, Mooney at Minnesota. We're far enough into the process where if that's going to be the case, why wouldn't have it happened already? Seems to be a little more up in the air.
  2. Nothing has changed for me and what I believe the likelihood of the outcome will be. What has changed a week later is I'm absolutely fired up for this opportunity for the program. I truly believe a win on Saturday would change the perception of this program "nationally". Credit to Bubba for getting this program to the point where it can break through. The Boise State loss felt differently. I do get a sense that more and more are getting increasingly frustrated with the status quo. Let's see a complete game, fundamentally sound, somebody be a hero. Make a play that will change this program. Excited for Saturday.
  3. Enrollment at UND rises again; systemwide enrollment is up, too - Grand Forks Herald | Grand Forks, East Grand Forks news, weather & sports (inforum.com)
  4. Thinking logically, if we do not see a story in the Forum on enrollment numbers, it's because NDSU does not want the article written. You're probably right on your line of thinking.
  5. Before the season, the feeling I've gotten. 1st Round: Boisvert 1st / 2nd Round: Emery / Heil 2nd / 3rd Round: Swanson / Zellers Laurila (?) Would it be unrealistic for UND to have 5 go in the Top 75? What a fun year this will be to follow recruits.
  6. For UND / NDSU, State funding really is the life blood of the University. It would make sense to me that things could snowball (harder to increase enrollment with less funding and vise versa). It really is high stakes every year, you just cannot start a downward spiral. Who knows, but I would almost prefer the Forum not to cover. For the simple reason is out of sight out of mind for alumns that might start putting pressure on the administration of NDSU.
  7. Not being able to verbally commit until August 1st of your Junior year.
  8. Disclaimer. Players committing and not making it to campus will still happen. Just how it is. That being said, since August 1st 2021, we are living in different times. It won't happen as often now as it did prior to that point.
  9. Actually, kind of a fun idea. My first thought though would be from a $ standpoint, would there actually be much of a difference between the Top / Bottom league? From a $ standpoint, OSU / Wazzu bring nothing of value to the tv contract conversation. Fun thought though. We'd maybe be talking about $6 million for the Top league and $2 million for the bottom league.
  10. Let me know if I'm missing something. Per Heisenberg's website. USHL (Forwards) Croal (Muskegon) - '03: Littler (Cedar Rapids) - '04: Panzer (Sioux Falls) - '04: Slipec (Chicago) - '05: Klee (Muskegon) - '05: Swanson (Fargo) - '06: Boisvert (Muskegon) - '06: O'Neill (NTDP U17) - '07: USHL (Defenseman) Jubenvill (Dubuque) - '03: Strathmann (Youngstown) - '05: McInnis (Waterloo) - '06: Emery (NTDP U18) - '06: Laurila (NTDP U18) - '06: USHL (Goalies) Heil (Sioux Falls) - '06: Other Ausmus - BCHL - '04: Pilgrim - MN HS - '06: Zellers - SSM - '06: Schultz - MN HS - '06:
  11. Starting with the Boisvert commitment, has there been a hotter stretch for this program in the past 17 years (post Oshie / Toews)? This has been lights out. Of course, I don't think the best player of the past 17 years is in the group, but I don't think the overall "ranking" has been higher during that stretch.
  12. I like the analogy. Figured as much, not sure why that threw me for a loop. Assumed that's always how it's been. Anyways, I hope they continue to have that mindset.
  13. Reason?
  14. Expect something today?
  15. UND sitting at #14 visiting the #1 team in FCS. This is a potential program changing type of game. I believe there are certain games that can change the projection of the program. Second game in a row, we get one. Here's how I see it. My guess at the probable outcomes. 90% - Blow Out. The final score shows a game that was not competitive. A few mistakes, a few what could have been plays. Snowballs in the second half. 7% - Lose a competitive game. UND plays well, just got beat by a better team that day. 3% - Win Until they prove that they can actually show up and play well in one of these games, hard to think we'll see anything different than the other type of performances we've seen under Bubba in these big-time games.
  16. @Sioux94 I think that's the most appropriate description of this program. They cannot seize the moment. Seems they are incapable of it. Although it starts with the coaches, clearly, it's on the players as well. It feels like it's in this programs DNA to not make "the play". Up until this point. Bubba has done a great job elevating the floor of the program. What I'm talking about is the three games every year that they won't be favored, or it won't be the coin-flip type of games. They are also games I'm convinced they can win if they play clean, up to their ability. As predictably disappointing and frustrating as last Saturday was, it's also really important to take a step back when it comes to this season. Almost every fan if you said they would go 1-1 vs Boise State / SDSU, they would be excited. That's still a possibility. It's absolutely way too early to get too low.
  17. I've been digesting a lot of Boise State content this week. Potentially losing this game is a none-starter for them, but they seem to be pretty spit between needing style points and just winning. The most vocal radio personality is pretty adamant that this won't be close (20, 30, 40 point win). Fans and Media are one thing, but if any of this noise is seeping into the BSU psyche, I could really see UND pulling this one off. Jump on them early, keep it close, put doubt in their mind. This just feels different to me. I think UND can really do this.
  18. Sounds like a fair statement to me.
  19. Two guys that transferred in last year that are noticeably better this year are Buckner & Hembry.
  20. Although frustrating to watch the opposing team play their 1st unit late in the 4th in a game they can’t win, playing up tempo. Incredibly valuable to the defensive depth. Valuable reps.
  21. Some thoughts after two games. • Offensively, on par or slightly better than last year. Very balanced. • Defensively, feel improved. Need to get better @ tackling & 3rd and longs. • ST’s, big improvement from week 1 to 2. Not sure if it’s a strength, but feel better that it’s not a big weakness. So far so good. As always, things to work on, but I’m excited to see where this team can go.
  22. UND opens as 20.5 pt favorites per 360.
  23. Predictions I’ve seen mostly have UND by 14 to 17. Prove them right today.
  24. LGH
  25. If UND is a legitimate Top 15 in the country, this is a game they should win by two scores at home. Time will tell.
