  1. Adidas basketball uniforms, at least a few years ago were terrible. Not sure if they've went away from this style.

    2018 UND Recruiting

I'm really excited to see what the coaching staff can do this year, with the success last year and the hype coming into the season (Pre-season Top 5, couple Pre-season All Americans), we are in uncharted territory as far as what the coaching staff can sell from a hype standpoint.
  5. With the UofM sniffing around, would like to see him get locked up sooner than later.
  6. Saw he took an unofficial visit to the UofM today. Clearly one of the Top Bantam players in the upper midwest, was a finalist for Youth Hockey Hub's bantam POY. Quick social media search, it appears 1/2 the people he follows on twitter are either UND players / UND affiliated handles, so it's a safe assumption he's a UND fan. You'd think the coaches would want to see him play HS hockey, but with the way recruiting is these days, they might offer before that. Edit

    2018 UND Recruiting

Just to clarify, UND didn't offer either of NDSU's two early commitments. Not saying they would have committed to UND if offered or that they aren't going to be great players, but they didn't offer.
  8. Correct, not only keeping the likes of Butcher an extra year, but finding the "tweener" players that need that extra year. I think it's generally accepted that if a player is ready and will play in the NHL the following year, it's time to go. Of the 8 players that have left UND the following two season, 6 will have played (counting Poolman) in the NHL. Let's compare Borgstrom / Terry to Jost / Boeser. Denver will get an extra year, where UND does not, but I believe both Jost / Boeser are better prepared to play in the NHL (& they will) this upcoming year. Comparable players in college, but UND's duo is more prepared to step into the NHL. BU & Wisconsin are currently making waves recruiting tons of top end talent, which is exciting when you are comparing recruits, but having that much turnover year after year (thinking in future for Wisconsin based on new coaches philosophy), won't get the job done in the tournament when you have so much turnover year and year. You need the top end guys (which UND has), but also a nice balance of 3 & 4 year guys with experience. UND making the playoffs for the past 15 years is enough evidence that they are doing things the right way, the philosophy the coaching staff has works.

    2017 Season

Good info! This team really needs Flowers depth at safety.
  10. In general, over the past decade everyone is recruiting younger and younger. It's just how things are these days, UND (like rest of the top programs) are getting verbals from the best 15 / 16 year old prospects. Problem being when you recruit so young, it turns into kind of a crapshoot, those players don't necessarily keep up with their projected trajectory. I find it hard to really get excited for a recruit that is years away from enrolling at UND. That being said, you can look at the flip side and enjoy watching the players mature as they enter different leagues. I don't think anything has changed with their philosophy and this years class should be Top 5 in the country.
  11. Not JoJo in particular, since I know that wasn't happening, but I really hope that we get another Safety in the next couple months for next year.

    2017 Season

My response was to why opposing fan bases don't give UND the respect everyone here thinks they deserve. My long winded point was there were definitely question marks, especially if you watched select games. USD for example was brought up, UND was terrible for 3/4 of that game, it's not crazy to think USD fans think they had a better team given that game. It was also during the first 5 game stretch, where UND was finding its offense. I'm ready to bury this conversation though.

    2017 Season

Everything I said was accurate, no need to get defensive. It's ok to objective you know.

    2017 Season

I think UND's offense in 2017 will be the best in the history of UND Football and will truly be "Championship" caliber. The way they play, I'm not saying they'll average 50 points a game, but they will be balanced with incredible depth. This will be the fist time ever they have a true 2 deep. I have zero concerns about them offensively, my worries are at LB and Safety. It really is incredible where Bubba has taken this program.

    2017 Season

As unflattering as it is, there is a lot of truth to what other teams fan bases said (are saying) about UND and their 2016 season. Does everyone remember how truly awful UND's offense was through the first 5 games? We all know the reasoning (brand new O-Line, WR core), but the fact was they were flat out atrocious. Now, they got better throughout the year and I thought were solid by the end of the year, but it took time. UND did have an easy schedule, not only who they played, but where. They played bad teams closer than they should have. The defense was opportunistic, but at times it was like the opposing offense could throw at will. At the end of the day, it was definitely a success, but I think some of the questions other people (& some of us here) have are valid.

    2017 Season

I imagine this would be slim to none, but I also hope that since the options for the PAC 12 are so few in ND / SD, that they might allow Midco to pick up the feed. Doubt it though. A day later and I'm still mad about this situation. It's insane that 2 out of the last 3 FBS games UND has played in have either (1) No stream / ways to watch (2) Basically No stream / ways to watch, based on the PAC 12 being an embarrassment of a network
  17. "However, Engelstad’s donation came at a price. He was known to throw parties on Adolf Hitler’s birthday, and he seemed to go out of his way to insult the Sioux tribes, whose name North Dakota used to use as its nickname." In what way?

    2017 Season

I think the problem this year is you need Sling tv to stream it online, so it's not like 99.9% of the other sporting options where you can just pay $10 to see the feed. Bars won't have Sling tv -- this is really disappointing.

    2017 Season

From the little research I did, at least in ND, the only way you can get PAC12 is if you have Dish Network. What a disaster of a network to not be on Directv, I doubt there's any bars that use Dish Network. It's 2017 and a lot of people will be stuck listening to it on the radio.
  20. I'll never understand the need to get defensive in situations like this. Are they guaranteed the title? Obviously not, but there's really no argument that if things break like they seem to be, they'll have by far the most talent in the country. I would say being #1 all year and winning the title that they were pretty dominant this past year, they'll be better next year.
  21. I've gotten to the point where I'd be stunned if anyone left. This being 100% correlated with my feeling that Montgomery is not getting the Florida job.
  22. A day after losing Bjork, Cal Petersen (Goalie) also announces he's going to turn pro. What a gut punch for Notre Dame.
  23. Very interested to see where Harrison Blaisdell and Michael Mancinelli end up next year, really hope at least one is able to follow in Luke Reid's footsteps and is able to make a junior team next year as 16 year olds.
  24. Pretty significant news on Luke Reid in the article: https://www.pentictonwesternnews.com/sports/sillinger-cruikshank-named-co-captains-for-penticton-vees/ He'll be playing for Penticton next year, doesn't turn 16 until September, so he's taking the Tychonick route of playing in the BCHL as a 16 year old. Pretty impressive for Reid. Penticton will have UND recruits Scheel, Reid & Tychonick next year.
