I'd vote that one down. I truly think that Gordon is a gifted ball carrier. Just get the recruits who were recruited for CB in and get them ready. Not trying to pick a fight. I really think Gordon is a good RB . . . and the trending format now is tall CB's. Gordon is a bit vertically challenged.

Not happy about this thread. Let's hope this is the last "well, who's up next" thread for the year!
-
I know it's just preseason talk, but this seems a bit too speculative. "should be" is the key phrase I guess. At that spring scrimmage I didn't see anything that would make me doubt any of those positions just yet. The Ute's will pull the blanket off of any weak spot quickly. I'll refrain from breaking them out . . . and say that, as a whole, I think this team will be better than last year.
-
Until JJ shows me something, i'd have Gordon at #3. Either way, he's staying at RB. IMO
-
I don't think he was sarcastic. Everything i read here touted Utah as a pretty solid team. If UND pulls out a win it will be called an "upset"...because Utah us a clear favorite. but upsets do happen

Let's be honest, with NDSU's recent history there aren't too many other teams that would be considered "good" by NDSU standards. UND did VERY WELL in respect to where that program had been, and where they are in the building process. IS the 2017 season here yet??!!!!!!
-
How good was UND last year? Well, they had a winning record and a trophy . . . so they did alright. Far from a powerhouse, but got it done enough times to make something of it. I, for one, was glad UND didn't face EWU. Not a favorable "style of play" matchup at all. The Richmond game was a choke. UND beat themselves in that game, pure and simple.

That's some old-school Astros uniforms, there. I like 'em . . . in that baby blue leisure suit kinda way.
-
. . . because I can't figure out how to store them on the VCR.

I attended the Spring ball scrimmage, and to my eye, Gordon seemed to be more of a threat than Johanneson. Maybe I missed something. From what I've read, he has some background to him that maybe some people are still thinking of when they watch him. I'm certainly not saying he's BAD . . . I'm saying that from attending that scrimmage he would be my #4 back. Let's hope he proves me wrong and kills it this season. I'm so pumped that I've been watching replay games from last season now!!

I drive up to Grand Forks from Sioux City, IA for almost every home game....and if i could have someone else drive, buy my ticket and some beers, hell, I'd sign up in a heartbeat! $95 would hardly cover your gas. Lucky for me, i get the short drive for this game.

"left the squad". That might count as two strikes Wonder what the situation there was?
-
Maybe that's why he went there? Start at the top and work down as needed . . . just a thought.

I read somewhere that Ratelle was waived by KC. Correct?
-
For every guy with a scholarship, there are one hundred more just waiting for the chance to get one. I don't really see any grey area to this. Not too tough to know right from wrong in situations like this . . . so congrats to the next man up who gets some playing time! So, any thoughts on who the "sack leader" will be this season? That spring game showed me that the speed is there on pretty much every part of the defense. (not so much there on size, though . . . excluding Tank).

It may even be safe to let Studs suit up for this game

Are those all of the wins out of 113 (foxsports.com) FCS vs FBS matchups in 2016? I guess that's one win better than 2015.
-
wow, you guys really start drinking early, don't you?! Go Hawks!!
-
Sarcasm . . . yes, that's why i said "ok, i know we want the win". We'll put the pads on and give 'em hell. Every time that ball is snapped my toes will curl a bit. Just sayin.
-
I wouldn't even let Keaton suit up for this game! Ok, I get that we want the win . . . but I'm worried for his life (and the rest of the season) with this matchup.
-
"Change a hawk to a little white dove" . . . correct lyrics. Which is even better.
-
Looks as if the LB's will be good to go. Any big, downhill running team may give them fits, though. I can't think of one in the Big Sky Conference, though.
-
Austin Gordon. He's really a fast, shifty guy that's not afraid to hit it a hole hard. He was fun to watch. Defense is just fast. Maybe not the biggest guys around, but that speed should make up for some of that. 1,100 people at the Spring game?? Yeah, I was pretty surprised.

This is a good thread to bring back this week now that we've had a glimpse of what the coaches are putting together. defense, defense, defense!!!!!!
