Completely agree. Talent everywhere for und offensively and they put up a whopping 24 vs Sam. No aggression Nice win though.

Maybe Rudy is hiding the other 24 pages of his playbook for the “right” team?? maybe the coaches will grow a pair and be the aggressor maybe the coaches will at some time be the coaching staff that makes adjustment

I would say Mid -tier.

I’m extremely anal about stats/ facts. I needed to look up pac 12 wr talent. Washingtons WRs came in 5th and 6th place in the two publications I viewed. That to me screams mid Pac -12 tier. Sticking with Sams starting WRs are faster quicker. Wont matter a bit if their qb can’t get them the ball

I would prefer it wouldn’t rain. Rain will give them an excuse as to why they lost. I would like to see UND fully and unequivocally tested against a quality opponent. Namely one with the type of arsenal that Sam has offensively. No excuses! Will only help UND in the long run.

Und SHOULD shut down their run game and make them one dimensional. It’s that one dimensional factor (pass D)that und needs to win. Und needs to be aggressive from the get go, not only defensively but more importantly offensively. Will or can they be aggressive offensively? Cmon Rudy!! Many different angles or intangibles involved with this game. Cant wait for the game either.

I’ve seen enough film on them to say they will be the best set of WRs und will face. Very quick and great route runners. Any open space and they’re gone. It’s just up to the qb to get them the ball

Better....not sure. Faster/ quicker....yes. I believe that Sams starting WRs are quicker/faster then Washington’s starting WRs Just because they are “fcs level”, as you mentioned, doesn’t excuse them from being talented (Wentz, David Johnson....etc). I would say the fcs combo of Hardin and Galloday would of rivaled a few fbs teams starters. Unds secondary will have its hands full with Sams WRs. Need the front 7 to get push and constantly disrupt their qb to help out the guys in the backend. Their HC is trying to rope und into thinking they will run the ball much more then in the past. Don’t buy it. He knows unds strength is against the run and have been suspect vs the pass. Weather permitting ....they will be flinging the ball all over. Und needs to be in Sams backfield all day. Have zero confidence in the offense ....but they should be able (hoping) to do enough to move the ball to rest up the D. We shall see

Same ol song and dance. In bubba years ...the D looks fantastic to began the game. They are well prepared and execute accordingly. The offense does zero. Because the offense does absolutely nothing the D succumbs to minutes. Game after game. They didn’t save this for just Washington ....it’s every &$^%@& game. Five years!! The D held it together for 3 qtrs this game. Does rushing for 202 yards at a 5.7 ave qualify as stopping their run game?? Could of been much better if the offense would do something to relieve the D. But that will never be. Game after game Two INTs were great as was the pressure Browning is the same kind of heisman candidate that Ryan leaf was. It’s all the system. Sam’s WR are faster/quicker then Washington WR. Btw ...who’s the potential nfl receivers for Washington? .

I’m not sure the UW qb is WAY better then sams qb. Sams qb was one of the top qbs in the east coast out of high school that started his career at Rutgers. I would say Sams starting WRs are on par with UW starting WRs talent wise. I will say more speed with Sams Saying that und “shutdown” UW is a optimist view. They looked very good and kept UW in-check for nearly 3qtrs but they still gave up 24 points at that point and had some nice offensive plays. Very impressed with und D just not sure they shut them down. Unds run D will take care of business vs Sam. Noah and Tanks injuries are unfortunate. Having them in the middle is a definite plus so if they miss this game that will hurt....but there is comfortable depth at those positions. Unds offense on the other hand ...... they can make a porous D look dang good. Simple tactic ....they stack the box against und like every other opposing D. CBs man up on the slow WRs, safeties drop down and worry about Santiago at the line. Santiago’s pure talent makes up for Rudy’s offensive deficiencies...... some of the time. See if he can in this game. If he can ....und stands a chance to keep pace if the score warrants it. Brady still might be banged up . Big loss with Tobin possibly out. Und cannot comfortably rely on its ST units. That’s the major eye watcher in this game. That would mean that Rudy would have decisions to make.....ugh.... Und definitely can win but will take an all around effort. My gut tells me that there will be a score or two by the D or a combination of D /ST return Und 35-34.

Spot on! Bubba is the biggest cheerleader for not only the football program but for UND. But like you said...his inflexibility is frustrating. His loyalty is also frustrating Year one: new coach new system plus a massive roster overhaul. For the most part things went as planned with any new coached team. Year two: as far as I’m concerned this has been bubbas best team. Rudy ball was very green. Opposing DCs and fans alike are somewhat unaware of the simplicity, non adjustments, use of personal that will become Rudy ball. But this year it works well with a very talented true freshman RB and RT. Plus Taj and Will at ILB and a healthy Cole lead the D. Run D was fantastic. Quite certain if they made the playoffs they would of won a game or two. Year three: Opposing DCs and fans have figured out Rudy ball. The offense was hit or miss depending on the quality of the opposing team. Good/decent defenses (wasnt many) didn't allow und to do much. The D was hit or miss as well. Improved secondary play. As usual run D was good /great. Und relied heavily on opportunistic moments this year. Weak/ weaker schedule. Felt great to be in the playoffs! year four: everyone on the planet is well aware of Rudy ball! Injuries! Defense was decimated yet made no adjustments. The signs of inflexibility and non adjustments are magnified across every level. Year five: Rudy is somehow still here !?!?! D looks to be back after a one year hiatus. ST are extremely young and ineffective. Conservative calls have always been there but are magnified. Many games left. Toughest schedule of bubba era I’m not looking for bubba to be given his walking papers he just needs to show the fans that he’s willing and able to believe in his kids and attempt things that are out of his conservative stubborn ways. Be flexible to a certain extent. Take chances to go for the win and not just keep it “close”. The young men will cling to that with confidence. And hire a new OC !!!
