We need Omaha to not have a #4 seed (since they are the host), and fellow host UMass to not have a #4 seed if the other 3 #1 seeds are HE schools (as is the case right now). There's a decent chance all 4 #4 seeds are autobids this year; at least 2 are guaranteed. Omaha is likely to be on the road in the first round, so they have a tough road to the #4 seed autobid. They have still never made it to the Frozen Faceoff.

This rivalry is a bit underrated, we've ended their season and vice versa quite a bit over the past decade. With the nchc 3 peas in a pod system starting next year, we're going to see a lot of them going forward. Their school's future may be in question, but these games are always fun.
