Decent number of NTDP 04s didn’t sign their NLIs today. Interesting

    Any names of interest?

    EDIT: did the research.

Michigan: Hunter Brzustewicz (awesome Polish name!), Frank Nazar, Gavin Brindley

    Notre Dame: Logan Cooley

    Minnesota: Cruz Lucius

    BC: Ryan Leonard

    BU: Michael Chambre

Leonard and Chambre are 05's called up from U17 and I don't think Brindley is a full time NTDP member so he might not announce it with them.

Nazar and Cooley are likely first round picks, Lucius is also a blue chipper. Polish dude is a bust.

    Hahaha really??? Who said this??

I said he didn't look ready for the NHL during the first game against Quinnipiac, was upvoted a lot and saw the rhetoric escalate from there. He was making mistakes then that he hasn't since though, and considering he plays half the game and has the puck on his stick so much, mistakes will happen.

Hard to be an effective freshman D-man when you come in from an injury and you weigh a 160 and there’s more “men” in college hockey than ever before with covid eligible year extension.

Coaches know what they’re doing. He’ll have to be patient.

It's a whole new world with the one time transfer rule though. Sounded like he has a good head on his shoulders and parents with values aligning with our program, but he needs to be in the lineup if we want him for the long haul.

Morrow could have definitely added another offensive spark to our current d-corps.  If it's true we brought in Johnson instead of Morrow, UMass appears to have the upper hand on that "trade" thus far (Johnson has only dressed in half UND's games).  Although Morrow might end up only being a 1-2 year college player, so Johnson definitely has some time to fulfill expectations as well, as he'll more than likely be a 3-4 year player.

I think it was a little more nuanced; we had space for both before diving into the portal. There were red flags about his character (and his dad's, which is indicative of the times) prior to that, though. He, Moore and Rowe all kinda seemed out of place coming from old money/upper class suburbs. Not our type of recruit.

Moore hasn't seemed like a brat, to his credit, and was vetted by Berry through a personal connection of some sort, his dad may have played with Berry?

  5. The weakened pwr incentivizes playing for the tie, which sucks. However, 3 on 3 usually results in a winner, which keeps casual fans engaged, an important consideration for a niche segment of what many of us consider the best sport. I enjoy watching it, maybe I'm not enough of a purist?

  6. Incredibly disappointing to have the captain take a penalty to put us down 5x3 for 2 minutes. Wound up chasing on the scoreboard all game because of it. Touch/possess the puck is your only objective there.

  7. Pedal pubs always make me chuckle thinking of when the bike hipsters in Minneapolis threw water balloons at one in use by off duty cops and got their $hit rocked. Didn't expect to get detained for that!

  8. With Matt Mania expected to go OHL, the only skater remaining of the 15 on Brad's watch list is Gracyn Sawchyn. We got 4, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Duluth and Michigan got 2, and 2 went MJ.

    Generic Bleu chipaz/gryndaz comment.

  9. Does anyone have the graphic design chops to mock that sweater up in black and white jerseys? Seriously, that is a thing of beauty. I'm literally craving the roasted almonds looking at it.

I'm not really concerned with the local provider, but I think the league is getting behind the times by not making their product available on ESPN+ to increase nationwide exposure.  NCHC.tv is fine for hardcore fans, but you aren't going to build the brand that way.

The games vs. Q were easily accessible.  I have to want to find NCHC action and have a dedicated subscription to see out of market games with today's arrangement.

Agreed. ESPN+ is THE streaming service for hockey, hopefully indefinitely. It's also got lots of college sports, so it truly is a no brainer.
