Big Ten changing their playoff format, speculated that NCHC too https://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2025/07/21_Big-Ten-Set-to-Make-Tournament.php

A good depth forward and potential leader considering he grew up around the game. First MA$$hole in UND history? Achievement unlocked

How do I bet the farm against Minnesota? They lost everyone and brought in a D3 transfer. Bubble team at best right now.

Profits are taxed and end up going to the parent institution, so they spend lavishly to avoid profiting. This is another line item toward that goal, albeit at the expense of other line items. -

It's an evolving situation. Ticket surcharges, student fees, etc. -
UND will be discussed a lot among this group. https://chl.ca/whl/article/13-whl-players-named-to-roster-for-canadas-national-mens-summer-under-18-team-selection-camp/

Opting into the house settlement gives schools a 20 million cap on what they can share with student athletes across all sports from athletic department revenue. With hockey as the marquee sport UND will likely allocate more to it than other schools, but it's tough to imagine them having the money to spend to the cap. -
His dad is only 40 and still playing pro! Looks like the prospect was born during a brief stint in the states, making him a dual citizen.

Rest of the list: Matia Birchler Viggo Nordlund Valtteri Lehtosaari Hugo Orrsten Elias Vatne Krists Retenais Vladimir Dravecky Lots of Euros. Dravecky is just shy of blue chip.

Good catch

Interesting follows by Chyzyk (beyond Bueker, Carels, Desnoyers, etc.): Owen Moulton Darels Uljanskis Ben Geiger Nolan Fitzhenry Artu Valila Matej Mastalirsky Miroslav Holinka Theo Stockselius Those last two are draft pick forwards, could be commits in the near future. More are on his list but just got pinged on Teams so back to work.

They did; having the arena off campus results in diminished student attendance though, which is detrimental to the atmosphere. Then again, the money spent on an arena could also fund a program-defining NIL war chest for a long time.
-
Off campus arenas are not ideal. Only as a placeholder until the on campus arena is built. UNO said until they built Baxter teams recruiting against them won the battles by mentioning they played off campus.

Just got an email from Sioux shop about a jersey clearance. Good sign that the new ones are approaching.

Anyone with insight on Zaide Penner? Fargo kid. Mentioned Brody Gillespie on here once after skating in a pick up with him. Big and skilled, was buried in the lineup in Spokane this past year but will get more opportunities with turnover.

Wife is a prof at U of P. Money and enrollment problems resulting in a downward spiral (like many colleges). From that reddit list Gonzaga, High Point and aforementioned UCSB (as well as the rest of the CA schools) are in areas they need to grow the game. Philly too now that I think of it.

And Clarkson as one of our opponents this year
-
My guess for CA outside of the usual suspects in the Big Ten is UCSB. Rink near campus, insane amounts of money floating around Santa Barbara, and no football team destroying the athletic department's budget.

A week old now, but good conversation with Marek and McMahon. Discusses Martone, Verhoeff and Reschny.
