  1. Articles like this make me appreciate Brad: http://www.duluthnewstribune.com/sports/hockey/4537134-thumbs-thumbs-down-three-stars-shepard-shines-again-bulldogs-spend-too-much He (Wellens) claims to be objective then clearly isn't. Rather than call Samberg out for getting burned on both goals he says it's because UND deliberately tried to involve Perunovich in matching penalties.
  2. What are their excuses for never filling the barn? Is Duluth too economically depressed or something?
  3. Not all surfing is done in 70 degree water. You can surf anywhere if you have thick enough neoprene.
  4. Gardner is going be like a lacrosse player out there, face off get off. Smith should show the same concern for Perunovich's health that UMD did for Jost, Poolman, etc.
  5. There's a video interview on YHH talking about him playing in the HS Elite league that shows him in UMD jerseys on the pond as a wee one. He says in the video he wanted get out of town for college but probably changed his mind. You'd think watching Tufte look like a bust would steer him away.
  6. Start benching an underperforming Junior class member and encourage him to graduate this summer. It's not like UND is academically rigorous...
  7. What about Sandra D and the other babes at his high school?!? Edit: this sounds creepy but it is meant to mock how high school "status" is built around social media these days. Sandra D being the girl from Grease of course
  8. More of this! Time to start hating on Duluth. Think penalty shot, weekend long shut-out, Osterberg diving incessantly, etc.
  9. Climbing up the pairwise! Look out RPI, Niagra, and Lake Superior State!
  10. Gardner better have a harem waiting for him at the party tonight.
  11. Haha. That's a good way to put it
  12. It was only a matter of time. Odd that going to the USHL was even on his radar. He must really not like the team with his MJ rights.
  13. The good news is California kids qualify for the WUE, so assuming he has the grades he would only pay 1.5x in state tuition.
  14. Takes quite a bit to beat the "Is Fargo the New Detroit?" posts.
  15. Thank/blame the new tax code. Season tickets are no longer federally deductible. But the good news is rich kids don't have to worry about their 7 figure inheritance being taxed!
  16. I miss the days where the internet required a certain aptitude to successfully navigate.
  17. Where they are from combined with blue chip status. I'd forgotten that point about Halliday though. I might also have knee jerked after finding out from Burton's list that Sanderson was as highly regarded as Kleven.
  18. Halliday and Sanderson are bigger risks IMO.
  19. Long shot for sure. And then a battle to get on campus and retain. Wonder how long until Wahlstrom bails on BC.
  20. California feeds the WHL. Rocco was a similarly regarded SoCal product. Winterhawks tried their best to court him but to no avail.
  21. Dang, even more evidence of his toughness. I only started watching in the 3rd period. He has arguably surpassed Toews as the most high profile alum active in the NHL these days.
  22. Oshie comes back from a trip down the tunnel following a cheap shot by Malkin to score the game winner. He is the embodiment of Sioux hockey.
  23. While the Red River Valley is Shangri-La!
  24. Seattle would be a mistake. Wrong time of year to visit, corner of the country, 3rd world traffic, I could go on. Here's a dark horse: Kansas City. Sprint Center is in the Power and Light District so fun is nearby. Midwest with easy access by driving or flying. Venue is top notch and begging for more utilization with no major tenant. Only question is who should the opponent be.
