For additional perspective, the 2008 NDSU football team lost games to JV powerhouses like Western Illinois and Youngstown State on their way to a 6-5 final record. Based on your previous comments, you don't like hockey or UND. The speed with which you replied to a perceived slight towards your school of choice on a UND hockey forum is a clear indicator of how fulfilling a life you lead.

It wasn't a comeback, it's a unique perspective to my reminder that UND is far and away a better school. It was in lieu of citing the law/med schools, larger endowment, etc. The only people who are watching the nickname controversy are those directly affected by it, i.e. live in the region or follow college hockey/Big Sky conference. John Oliver did more damage to the state with his segment than the nickname ever could.

UND is a space grant institution with the top public aviation program to boot. NDSU is an ag school that most people outside the region were unaware of before their JV dynasty began. Wearing a sioux ball cap on flights in my early 20s got me invited into a few cockpits and plenty of shout outs from pilots. Athletic success is fleeting, reputation is forever.

It boggled my mind that Western Michigan didn't get votes this week but Ferris State (who they beat and tied), Wisconsin and Brown did. After beating #10 BGSU tonight that won't be the case next time. They looked good in the clips I watched, and I'm glad to see them piling up non-conference wins.
