Well, given that he was a registered Democrat as a regular citizen of NY certainly supports your hypothesis. Both sides have plenty of corruption.

SDNY didn't have anything to do with the Russia investigation. They are going after him for stuff he did before the election. His desire to increase his profile brought scrutiny, hard to sympathize with him.

I remember feeling embarassed to be American based on how many of my peers referred to anyone whose ethnic origins were from Turkey, India and everywhere in between as towel heads, terrorists, camel jockeys, dune coons, etc. It was truly awful for a lot of undeserving people.
