Fact: according to the NCAA, Mens basketball UND has a better RPI than Minnesota.
-
Can we get another thread split?
-
UND is the 7th youngest team in D1 Mens Basketball.
-
Looked like a fun atmosphere. Wish I would have been there.
-
How about that free thrown shooting. Maybe it's the new assistant coaches?
-
I'd rather not play Minnesota. It's an unhealthy rivalry. UND needs to keep focusing on getting itself better for tournament time and not get ingrained with beating a rival.
-
Most college hockey arenas don't have full attendance. Nothing new.
-
Duluth reminds me of UND the past years...constantly out shoot your opponent to lose by two goals.

Few news headlines say his agent dumped him and he threatened to kill himself.

How does a school cut $25 Million in expenses in one year is a good question. That's a lot of money. $25 million in cuts they will need to do divide that by the number of students full time it comes out to: $2,400 per student. Or in other words each full time* student would need to pay an additional $2,400 per year for the University to continue to operate the way it was this (or last) year. *or $1,600 each for full and part time students.

A few year ago Wisconsin would poke fun at Minnesotans academics. Their response was "you get what you put in."
-
Thanks to all the UND fan that will be there.

If any one has a picture of the finished "ghost" feel free to post it. I do think the giant head downtown is pretty cool and a nice addition. What's the next Cloud Gate. That thing is quite the tourist attraction.

And this whole time I thought....

I'm not sure exactly how all this works, but I wonder if higher education would be cheaper if they went back to their original mission of educating students and focused less on chasing research dollars.
-
Nailed it. Same news stories different year.... Article mentions the sixth it's "true...ish?" By the NDSU President this week.
-
Schmaltz and Cags expected to return to lineup vs Denver.
-
One less Hockey East team, and maybe a heck why don't we just go join the NCHC by Notre Dame.
-
I forgot they even had hockey....right up there with Ohio State.
-
Boost enrollment-->Get more research done-->budget shortfall-->more money from the state?

That's not the problem either. The Ralph has tons of businesses that own multiple seats in the arena which is expected when the arena holds 11,500 in a 60,000 town. The difference is they didn't buy enough tickets at those businesses, the demand for who wants to use them that week is great (and we're not talking just three or four tickets). Employees who usually want to go to a hockey games are also "fans" at UND. And a nice gesture to its employees for those who might not be able to normally afford it. Gophers problem is they don't play UND anymore so nobody wants to go: "Fan" or "Business."

KVLY (I can't not stare at Andrea Larson's "uneven eyes.") has a story "College Affordability Discussion." Bresciani was no comment when asked. Schafer said UND no longer has a deficit.

I don't disagree. I'm just saying I don't see them turning down a large donation was offered to build a new building (it would certainly have to be quite a bit nicer). Its only a matter of time before all sports venues are replaced, no matter how "iconic" they are (It's usually the teams in that buildings that make them iconic.) Duke officials talking about Cameron Indoor Stadium: “We are 20 years behind on our facilities, and we need to catch up to the same decade as our peers." A lot of these people would replace their stadiums if the money was there, but it's not. Instead they renovate and with good teams and time, they become "iconic", and hard to replace...especially after they keep pumping so much money into them. Purdue’s Mackey Arena got a $100 Million renovation a few years ago. The Ralph will become iconic because I don't see them ever being able to replace that building. Bigger isn't necessarily better. But the population of towns and schools and thus sports attendance, increases. In 50 years if a stadium is the same size as it were in the 1970's they are either losing a lot of money or their fan base has shrink in proportion.
