My intent was not to critize Schmidt in that situation. I would have responded exactly as he did....protecting my players from leaving. It was moreso to citizen the NCAA...on the same page as you "incredibly hypocritical." 💋

What we saw today was what we didnt expect...not saying a reason why but... We saw a UND team barely winning...struggling....looked to be the old same...close game...lose in 4th... Then a new QB came in...and took a drive or two but they then found a rhythm...looked like UND from first four games again ..took control and dominated.

Hoping Schmidt is a good recruiter and realizes "Lance Rucker's" are a dime a dozen with his recruiting and coaching abilities.

Here's a weird one for you: Bubba did fine. Yet im glad they let him go? Are those competing ideas that are hard to grasp concepts of? Bubba built upon his predecessor. But after that many years we started to see his peak. And it wasn't very high. He had stalled his progress. Maybe his age? Everyone gets comfortable at a certain age and after so long in a position. Maybe other factors. Theres a natural process...."yay new coach...now I have to say old one sucks now....then, this new coach isnt new anymore....he sucks now!" Don't fool yourself thinking this could never happen to Schmidt. But we all hope hes so successful he gets a bigger job. (Disclaimer: im not predicting one way or another.) You said Schmidt is Bubba's protégé? That must mean youre saying he sucks! No. Its pattern recognition. Bubba was teaching defense at UND to Schmidt all throughout Schmidts playing days on campus. Then Schmidt and Bubba worked side by side for six years at Southern Illinois. Then Schmidt followed Bubba back to UND and they worked together for another six years. 16 years working side by side is a long time. So if Eric does good....you have to say "Congrats Eric! Bubba taught you well!" 😘

Its ok to say Mussman didnt suck. Bubba didn't suck. Schmidt doesnt suck. Each coach built on the last. One transitioned to FCS. He did fine. The next one got a indoor practice facility. And he built the program to new heights. And now Schmidt is is building on that. He was given new weight room and player area attached to IPF. Me "this is Schmidts first college head coaching position" Lizard brain: "he wants Schmidt fired." Or it could mean "hes still learning."
