University rankings in terms of research and scholarship matter far more when it comes to faculty salaries.

If Faison is smart, the press release starts with, "After cutting men's baseball last year, UND finds itself needing to make further cuts and as such" ... and then references all sports cuts noted in the release back to when UND had 21 sports. It also takes the men's golf adventure (fiasco?) out of play. Noting, reiterating, baseball is gone takes the teeth out of the SJWs (that you know are laying in wait, sharpening the knives). If you cut MS&D you cut WS&D and save all the facilities costs on Athletics. You transfer them (Hyslop pool) to the general University. And then, you eliminate softball to balance baseball being cut a year ago. UND doesn't own the facility for the sport. Interestingly enough, my numbers show those three together come in at about the right number.

Berry and his staff are there to make decisions and put players in positions to succeed. Motivation comes from leadership, undistracted, laser-focused, consistent, day-in-day-out, leadership. That leadership has to show by word and deed the want to win for yourself and your teammates. I'll say again: this looks like a lack of leadership to me. How else can you explain Friday's third to Saturday's turd. Two-strides and a coast to a puck is not leadership; standing with the puck on your stick and not moving your feet is not leadership; weak-sauce passing off the boards that gets intercepted is not leadership; not getting the puck out of the zone at any cost is not leadership; "look-out!" passes is not leadership; not skating hard to the bench on changes is not leadership.

You assume they'd cut UND in on the hockey part of that. If I were negotiating for UND, that'd have to be part of the deal.
