  1. Call me greedy, but I'd like a conference where a super-majority of the schools are named either: University of < state name > or < state name > State University
  2. So who'll be the first to schedule into next century?
  3. Now that IUPUI has announced it's going to the Horizon immediately, how do you view where the Summit is (before and after).
  4. If I knew why sometimes an off team finds its way I'd bottle it and sell it. And if I knew why a team on its game trips up I'd ban it (at least from Alerus Center; I'd ship it all to FargoDome ). Is it having a real, true two-deep where if one guy is having an off day the other comes in seamlessly? I don't know.
  5. First half Richmond. Second half NAU. Cal Poly.
  6. When UND was playing the way Bubba would have them play, yes, and maybe more (like top 5). When they were "off", they weren't top 25. Consistency is something that needs to be worked on now that some of the core issues (like plain old having the personnel and scheme that works) have been dealt with.
  7. As things sit today, yes, Montana and North Dakota will be non-conference in 2024 and 2025. But tell me what things will look like in 2024.
  8. And now we break from our regularly scheduled thread to cut live to a Tom Douple press conference already in progress.
  9. I wonder if UND has words in its agreement to join the Summit about "changes in membership" between the signing of the agreements and the actual joining.
  10. MBB plus FB or MBB plus 2 men's team sports is the requirement to be a core conference. You must have core conference status to be awarded a MBB autobid. The only thing that matters is that MBB ($$$$$!!!) autobid.
  11. FIB&T has a presence in GF already, just not a store front. https://firstintlbank.com/locations-hours/
  12. Not enough. Only three Summit schools play hockey so it wouldn't count as a conference sponsored team sport.
  13. TEAM sports. Basketball, football, baseball, hockey, soccer. What you list are considered individual sports.
  14. I see six centers: Gardner, Bowen, Simonson, Hoff, Jones, Kawaguchi. Gardner and Simonson will be two most nights. Whoever is playing well of the other four at the position will be the other two; however, don't be surprised if Jones isn't one of them most of the time. Remember, Jones is effectively a junior.
  15. SV is correct on the contract language. I saw it. I read it. I can no longer find the link either. It stipulated that if (by name) Montana, Montana State, and North Dakota were not in the Big Sky on the date Idaho was to join Idaho could renege on joining with no penalty and get their deposit back in full. Just those three schools were specifically named.
  16. Seems you missed or failed to understand what SV said: Losing IPFW means losing a baseball and a men's soccer team. That puts each of those at 5 teams in Summit League play. That's not enough conference teams playing the sports to allow for a MBB autobid. See NCAA Division I manual sections 31.3.4.5 and 20.02.5 if you don't believe me. The key is in 20.02.5.2 (b): Lose IPFW and you fall below six in baseball and men's soccer. And thus the MBB autobid goes "poof!".
  17. Those last 21 charter air miles are budget-killers. Oh wait, it's the wrong way! Narrative killer!
  18. Missoula to Grand Forks: 1018 miles Missoula to Fargo: 951 miles Those last 67 miles are budget-killers.
  19. If it turned out to be the west five and east five, well, Missoula to Omaha is about 140 miles different than Missoula to Flagstaff. < shrug > West: Montana, MSU, EWU, Idaho, Denver East: UND, NDSU, USD, SDSU, Omaha
  20. Are you < bleeping > kidding me? Once IUPUI leaves (expected to happen Wednesday) the Summit is one departure away (in baseball or soccer) from losing its MBB autobid? And in reality, yeah, IPFW is eyeballing the door (and WIU just might be, and ORU might be). Spectacular. There'd better be a plan.
  21. There's even less chance of the xDSUs and UxDs moving down than of the MnSCUs moving up.
  22. I just don't see the MsSCU schools going DI.
  23. We've had teams with Toews, Parise, Oshie, Stafford, Zajac, et al, and they came up empty. We had a team with Boeser on it and came up aces; but a Boeser/Jost team came up short. What I want is a winning team. If it happens to have a bunch of draft picks on it, so be it.
  24. I don't think he's saying anything. Note the words "consider" and "may". He's putting out one plausible scenario based on current motion. Another plausible scenario would be IUPUI moves and that's the end of the motion. YMMV. Personally, I see conference moves like ripples on a pond. The AAC dropped a rock in the middle of the pond ... The AAC picks from the MVC (Wichita State). Then the MVC picked the Horizon (Valpo). And now it seem the Horizon has picked the Summit (IUPUI). What additional bobbing that happens at the edge of the pond is yet to be seen.
