A long time ago I was training under a very respected umpire. He gave me some really good advice: Your strike zone doesn't have to be the same as mine; however, your strike zone must be the same for both teams inning after inning. He went on to say it's not my problem if someone doesn't like my zone as long as I'm consistent calling it. So no, don't expect our zone to be like other sites. And yes, we have some areas that are called strikes that some may not like. As long as the umps are consistent it's up to the batters to adapt.

I'm not sure how many times I've said it but look at NDSU. They don't do anything exceptional. What they do do, they do exceptionally well. When you watch their offensive line play they really only run maybe a half-dozen blocking schemes. But they never miss a block. Simpler is better.

You picked up on something there: Having to say that out loud, to the press, is a big red flag about what was going on under Rudolph.

No it’s not a simple answer. Fix the offensive line. Do everything that takes. What’s that entail? Coaching. Scheme. Strength. Conditioning. That touches everything I see that isn’t working. And it builds the most important part of a football team.

I’ll only comment on one: 33 looked overstocked on his frame. His mass seemed burdensome when he was running. That’s strictly by the eye test. That said, I stand by my previous comment: nothing matters until the offensive line is dominant.

Go back and look at the main camera shot one second after 22 scores the GWG: seven players in the image, but only one of them is in a white jersey. UND must’ve been in a line change. And UAA, they’re not so good.
