I enjoy the "explaining" and how it's done at the Y. The NCAA ain't the Y. And how it's lesser because it's not the worst intentional thing that could've been done. Getting caught sucks.
-
I got $20 on the over.
-
No, I'm looking at this from the direction the NCAA would take. Ain't much fun to have the NCAA stink-eye on ya.
-
You ask some really ugly questions there.
-
Black and white. No nuance. And you know going in. And the coaches do too.
-
But you can link to it.
-
You just stated that an unapproved agent was used intentionally to gain an advantage. <-- What does one call that? No nuance there, no 'pre workout' qualifiers, no "stimulant v. anabolic", according to the NCAA. And they get to decide, not you or I. Next, just because you see it at the Y? C'mon, that is precisely the "everybody does it" defense. These staff and players know they're at a whole different standard (the NCAA). They failed and got caught. Own it.
-
Lack of institutional control? I've heard that phrase used somewhere ... hmmm ...
-
OK. Here's another great portion. Not to the NCAA. The NCAA is black and white. The NCAA is not nuanced when it comes to this topic.

If you play you get one; if you are benched you get the other.

Forgive me, but I'm going back to this one more time: Is this common at the FCS level? It can't be cheap. And why do they self-test? To me you test for things you know might happen. My house has smoke detectors; they test the for smoke and let me know. (Hold your comments on my cooking.) My house has a carbon monoxide detector. Why? Because I know my house can produce CO (furnace, fireplace) and I want to know before it does harm. I test for things that might happen. I don't have a U-235 detector (Geiger counter) in my house. There'll never be U-235 in my house as it's illegal for a private citizen to possess; it's never going to be there. Why would I test for it. So if NDSU knows to follow the rules, why do they test for things that by policy (theirs and NCAA), won't be there? The only other reason you test for something? The ugly answer is you know your are doing something and need to make sure you are staying undetectable.

That is tasty now isn't it. Mom and son are in direct dispute with this claim. Now who benefits from which claim? NDSU saying "not us" protects NDSU. The mom and son saying "NDSU supplied" are opening themselves up to scorn and derision.
-
Let me bring out the statements I never expected from Kolpack's article. Who is this mother Lori Robbins? Not the kind that would seem to have reason to besmirch NDSU. And yet she doubles down ... She not only claims it, but re-iterates the claim against NDSU's trusted staff member. Either she's right or she's been misled (assumably by her son, which would say even less about him). To me that one speaks for itself. Whatever this is someone has to know where to acquire it, and it ain't Walmart. And again (former Bison) mom ... She doubles down the double-down against trusted NDSU staff. And she goes on to spread the charge beyond just her son. In the trade they call that "all in". But wait, there's more ... Now how in the world did she "know" that. I mean how would she claim to know the inside goings-on of NDSU Athletics. Oh. Wait. NDSU Athletics Hall of Famer ... My only question at this point is this: Are folks in Indianapolis taking note?
-
Are we sure? Between Hoole knowing and sitting on it, no mention of Robbins until it was so overt it had to be asked post-game, and now this month gap to Kolpack's story, it must be asked.
-
If your team rules say "follow the NCAA rules" and your coaches demand that, why would you need to test your own people? You only test for something you're looking to detect. Either you - don't trust that your own team rules are being followed, or - you're looking to make sure what you're doing stays below detectable limits

Which "roids"? "Ster-" or "Hemor-" ...

Discussing the public actions and performance of a public figure, like a coach, is fair game. Delving into their non-public lives would be dealt with differently. Launching a personal attack at the public figure would be dealt with differently. Calling for a coach to be replaced due to (one person's perceived) performance issues is not personal. As they say, "It's part of the business." If you can't see that distinction I can't help you.

Good ADs make decisions like Wayne Gretzky on a hockey rink: Don't go where the puck is; go where it's going to be. -
Um, you need a new onion.

No, just the wearer.

Yup. It could've had teeth and biceps*. *The logo. Yes, the mascot roving the rink has "biceps".

Missed that: Cam's on the squad. But I think we're stuck at 5 D. -

Zane McIntyre was called up by BOS today. Being a goalie I believe being "up" counts in that case.* *My game; my rules; it counts for a goalie, and only a goalie.
